Has anyone used rims with offset ET 39 on Corsa B 1.4 Swing? Friend of mine has 185/65/R14 winter tires, and they would be perfect for the kind of snow we have here in Norway. I’m not sure if the offset ET 39 would create any problems to my suspension, or would rub anywhere?... Read more
Can anyone recommend a good place to obtain Mercedes used parts? The day running light on my Merc SLK has gone and I need to replace it. The part number is the same as units fitted to C Class, E Class and a couple of other models as well as the SLK.
MB want £106+VAT for a new one and I've seen a few on Ebay for around £80 but the sellers won't confirm the part number to me so I'm not buying unless I'm 100% certain the part is correct.... Read more

My guess for this problem is the regulator in the alternator had no ground reference to.
In any cicuit if a resitor is placed on the ground pin of the regulator to earth, the voltage will rise.

The car starts ok from cold. A recent problem has shown that after driving for approximately one hour, then stopping (engine switched off) when re-starting, the engine mis-fires and the rev counter drops to zero. The engine runs, but sluggishly and the rev counter fails to work. Unless caught on the accelerator at junctions etc it stalls. ?? Read more
Hmm. Rev counters are usually driven off the coil pulse (in the case of multi-coil setups - usually the No. 1 coil).
An iffy coil pack would account for both the odd rev counter behaviour and the misfiring / stalling when hot.

A hatchback in pseudo SUV drag wearing a two-tone dress. Yuck!
IMO, the best looking Clio was the mark II 3 door. Simple, elegant lines that just don't seem to age. No fussy styling embellishments that age faster than a botched botox job....
