Lambo is struggling to keep up with the competition and it can be seen with their latest oddity the Veneno from the Geneva motor show.

The P1 and the Ferrari LaFerrari smash it out of water altogether with tech advancements and the Veneno is made just a suppued up Avendator with carbon fibre thrown here and there.

This article from carhoots supports my argument: www.carhoots.com/blog/news/what-are-lamborghini-do...g

what do you think? have they lost the way? Do you actually like the Veneno?!? Read more

hi there

i recently removed the battery from my 2001 Grand Voyager. It was disconnected for a few days, as i am unable to use the car at the moment. I reconnected it this morning and the alarm started to sound. Nothing i do will get the alarm to deactivate. The fob does nothing, and unlocking the car with the key or turning the ignition does nothing either. I've had to disconnect the battery again. ... Read more

Seems the Government is keen on introducing E10 biofuel. Thats 10% Ethanol mixed with regular unleaded.

My question is does anyone have any idea if their old car will run on this stuff? Or will it dissolve the fuel system from within? Cos I don't.... Read more

Plenty of issues with using modern petrol in older cars documented on various sites. Allegedly Ethanol does not like brass bits in fuel systems and from personal experience I know that rubber hoses do not like modern fuels of any description. There are rubber hoses that are suitable for fuels containing modern additives including ethanol, its called R9 spec. But try and find some in this country, most of what is available is cheap Chinese stuff with E9 stamped on, it still rots away after 3 years. Plenty of good R9 available in the States fom gates, Goodyear etc, they have been using Ethanol in fuels for years, but its all imperial, good for really old cars, no use on modern classics.

Hi There,

I am just wondering about the position on the spark plugs in the duratec engine on my ford KA. I am just wondering as cylinder 4 spark plug seems to sit higher then the rest, i.e. it does not screw as far into the engine. is this correct?... Read more

I would have thought that the plugs should all be at the same level I have never seen any that are different in height. Are the correct plugs in the engine and are they all tightened down ,there may be a logical reason for one being higher than the others like the thread in the head is damaged.

Is it easier to remove an engine from a 2004 Mitsubishi Warrior from underneath, or to use a hoist from above?... Thanks Read more

Near on impossible to remove the motor from underneath unless you are going to remove front differential, drive shafts, front prop shaft etc and even then I don't know if it will come out underneath, I take it you are talking about the diesel 4D56T motor?

Many reports of blower motor rehostat femail plug pins overheating and burning out / open circuit..Just recently extended wiring loom ( very difficult working from driver footwell) and linking the red feed to blower motor with orange feed from selector switch to bypass burnt out fematle plug contacts. While the blower motor was out I made a low resistance shunt and with a millivolt meter recorded a current of 30 amps which seems to suggest that the small connection area of the plug / rehostat is ill designed to service the life of the vehicle. The vehicle designer recognised that the power rating of the blower (nearly half horsepower ) was a battery drain and therefore only enabled the fan when engine running. Hence 40 Amp fuse justified. The car has been running fine for ages but all of a sudden it has lost all power up to about 3thousand revs and struggles to make it up hills, the car is also rocking when it is ticking over. An orange light has come on which I think is the engine light but can't make out the symbol. Is there any advice what cold cause this before I book it into a garage want to have an idea what to ask for so I'm not taken for a ride.

Thanks in advance for a any replys Read more
