Peugeot 307 Rapier - Fuse rating - chickC

Many reports of blower motor rehostat femail plug pins overheating and burning out / open circuit..Just recently extended wiring loom ( very difficult working from driver footwell) and linking the red feed to blower motor with orange feed from selector switch to bypass burnt out fematle plug contacts. While the blower motor was out I made a low resistance shunt and with a millivolt meter recorded a current of 30 amps which seems to suggest that the small connection area of the plug / rehostat is ill designed to service the life of the vehicle. The vehicle designer recognised that the power rating of the blower (nearly half horsepower ) was a battery drain and therefore only enabled the fan when engine running. Hence 40 Amp fuse justified.
