Good Evening,
Today I had my Range Rover stolen from my drive while the key was in it and the engine was running deicing for a whole 5 minutes. Which with hindsight was stupid!!!... Read more
Hello. The key on my son's Golf mk4 will not enter the hatch boot lock. Have tried to free with WD40 but will not enter the barrel. The alarm. electric window, interior light, and boot light circuit now blows the fuse. Have checked the wiring to the doors and boot but cannot find any breaks. Have taken off the boot fairing and cannot see any signs of leaking from the wiper tube or corrosion. When my son fits a new fuse the system is ok until he opens the boot, the alarm sounds and fuse blows.
Is it easy to replace the boot lock, can I keep the same barrel, will the lock have to be coded ... if I remove the lock should I beable to free the barrel so that I can once again open the lock manually with the key. Would appreciate your help as my son has had to replace the dash because the immobiliser unit failed... after that expense I hope to solve this problem myself.... Read more
Check the boot light and its wiring ,it is often very tight and can short on the metalwork. Also check the interior roof light ,above the mirror.Does the slide switch move with a positive click or is it sloppy. As for the boot lock,if you want to be able to use the original key then a new lock can be ordered to vin #.hth
HI there, i have a Tdi PD 115 VW passat, its done 96K, the symptoms are it hesitates under load, particularly in 3rd, 4th and 5th gears and when it hits around 3000 revs it like stops boosting? (like its hit a wall?)
The Vagcom came up with only one fault code which was "fuel temperature sensor", i replaced this but it made no difference. (the new part came with the sensor and housing, but i only replaced the sensor, seemed pointless replacing the housing as well, but maybe thats where im going wrong?)... Read more
I once had a car with similar symptoms and the cause was that the baffles had dropped in the exhaust causing a partial blockage. It ran fine at lower revs but higher up it started to choke due to the blockage.
I recently recieved a NIP as the owner of a vehicle but I was not the driver at the time, I was abroad (yes this can be proven). The driver was a house guess and non-EU foreign national.
By filling in their details on the request for information page can you tell me if the foreign driver will be persued? Or will the police continue to peruse me?

Blimey, I think i'd just take the 3 points. No justice but then justice is blind.
Hi
I have a 2002 Mondeo 2L petrol Ghia, with over 90,000 miles on the clock. I have a leaking water pump (very light drip) and was wondering how difficult it is, it all looks quite straight forward in the Haynes manual. If anyone has ever changed one I would be grateful for some feedback. I have a double garage with all the tools but it’s been a while (Escort Mk 1) since I been under the bonnet of a car.
Kind regards Read more
I have been pondering over which way to go for a month now, every review I read places these two cars side by side. At least I know I've picked a winner its just which one I write the cheque for.
I am looking at a 2003 SL500 (5 lire) and a 2002 XKR convertable 4.0L twin superchargers.... Read more
I used to like driving the Mercs now over ten years ago as test cars for the Adibis Oil test centre .These where petrol engines and they have a nice presence on the road .I know its maybe childish but I always liked seeing the merc batch on the bonnet. It is a shame that accountents take over.Mercedes Benz always stood for reliability and quality.
Have been looking around at SUV type cars and thougth the Juke looked weird but wonderful.Started to look at the specs/prices and noticed there was no alarm fitted.
Emailed Nissan UK to confirm wether an an alarm system was fitted as standard and the reply was'No'.... Read more
Or 'Joke' - a styling joke. No offence intended.
Hi
Not sure what to do. I was going to buy this car advertised at "Mileage: 54360" . Spoke to the guy who lives in Luton and is a mortguage advisor. He says that he also deals in cars and this is a one company owned car. The number plate is in the photo so I did a car check and it came back with 130000 odd miles on it. I am sending the links over to you to take a look at and 1 picture actually shows the speedo at 54360.
What am I supposed to do?

Hey Brid, did you know you left your own postcode in the Autotrader link? Tee hee.
Ok, 3 problems occurred around the same time yesterday, all leading to me not being able to start the engine: (possibly all unrelated!)
1) After turning the hazard warning lights on, I couldn't turn them off. Had to remove fuse to get them to shut up.... Read more
Try measuring the battery voltage while operating the starter. Any thing less than about 10Volts and the battery need replacing or chgarging
So the forecast is out, and it's going to be another cold winter.
I've seen the test results, and searched the web, now for the nitty gritty ... in practical terms exactly what can I expect with winter tyres? The tyre test results give useful info, but do not include a 'living with' report - for instance, will I be able to drive normally if driving on snowy road (OK perhaps not at 70 mph, say 40 - 50 mph). In some user posts I read of driveways that become usable again, but there is more to driving than setting out from home. ... Read more
I've found out a little more - it seems the compund is the same. So the WR G2 don't really need to be taken off in spring, unless their grip is significantly affected by warm weather. We'll swap them over, even so, to even out the wear.
From the Nokian site "What does "All Weather" tire really mean?
Nokian invented the All Weather tire category with the introduction of the WR/WRG2. Designed as a winter tire first, this tire can be used year-round and still provides class leading winter grip. Further, unlike other winter tires it will not be damaged if driven during the summer months.
Are the Nokian WRG2/WRG2 SUVs Winter tires or All Season tires?
We refer to them as All Weather tires, not All Season tires. Whereas All Season tires are best suited for spring, summer, and fall and can handle some winter conditions, the WRG2 and WRG2 SUV are true winter tires that can also be used during the rest of the year. This differs from winter-specific tires that should not be driven in the warmer months due to excessive treadwear."...
