...when you get a puncture that can't be repaired and nobody has the tyre in stock.
I have the winters on steels so am currently running a summer tyre on the LF and a winter on the RF. Very far from ideal and quite sketchy to drive.... Read more

For the wiper motor, I would suggest trying taking it apart, cleaning all the bits and reassembling with fresh grease where appropriate. I've had this happen on a few vehicles in the past and its always proved to be down to old, hardened grease in the motor gearbox assembly rather than a fault in the motor itself. The "works when it's warm" aspect is diagnostic here. A scrap one is unlikely to be much better in this regard.
As for the washers, I have found a few times in the past that mixing 'n matching fluids can cause the whole shebang to go like jelly in the cold! Try the following:...
I bought the above car on credit on 9th July 2010. I have had several problems with the car since purchase, , Problems with selection of gear on initial acceleration, very problematic in 1st gear to the extent that car vibrated and would not select initially. Gears not synchronising properly. Also very problematic in selecting gears at times, sometimes would drive 500 yards before changing, Problems with O2 sensor. Complete Vehicle Breakdown / Mechanical and/or Electrical on Wednesday 10th November 2010, when the durashift EST warning light came on.

It's available on a number of cars-it's called "global opening";useful in very hot countries to cool car before you get in.Should also be "global closing" as well where all windows can be closed from the key fob or key as well.
Rear wiper blade operates and so does pump but no water. Instead water comes out of front jets (although front wipers not moving). I am pretty sure that its not a blockage, as I have removed stop light and washer jet assembly and checked it. Curiously when hose was disconnected from jet unit, water gushed out when operated, I reconnected and washer worked for a few seconds then stopped, I checked jet was still clear but no joy. I presume there is a switching device that decides where the water is going ie front or back screen and that this is malfunctioning. Is this correct and if so where is it? (front wash wipe works normally) I hope someone can help and thanks for giving me somewhere to ask - Gwenrick Read more
Most modern cars with front and rear screen wash have only one wash pump that reverses rotation of pump motor depending on whether front or rear wash has been selected. There is no switching device to direct the water.I would think that there is a blockage or freeze up down at the reservoir bottle and thus the water is finding the easiest escape route ie to the front jets.
thank you thats something pretty simple? that I would never have thought of in a 1000 years! I have to take the wheel and panel off to investigate, but at least I know what I'm looking for, thanks again - Rick

I'm off up in the hills over Christmas with bog standard road tyres. Getting a set of winter tyres is out of the question (price, storage etc) so I am considering chains or snow socks.....anyone any views ? Places to buy, prices ? Read more
our recent experiences are, vectra with 3/4mm lassas on front was rubbish, huge difference when new mohawks(cheap tyres)put on;missus zafira with 5mm pirellip6000 was also totally rubbish, new pair of winter tyres, mastersteel? made amazing difference;put key in tread and you can see the tread move quite easliy.
Hi,
I have a 2003 Micra (K12) and over the last 14 or 15 months the fuel economy has dropped through the floor. It has gone from doing about 420 miles to a tank down to around 300, and usually just under that. It has done 35k.
I have had new front tyres, changed the air filter and had both the fuel and oil systems flushed and fitted with new filters. All with no affect.
Can you suggest what else may be causing the problem?
I can only think of spark plugs, but when the fuel system was flushed it had an emissions test and was damn near perfect, so they are unlikely to be the cause.
Any help would be great, thanks! Read more
All sorted, was a £12 part.
Cost £70 all in, with new coolant and labor costs included....
Can anyone shed any light on my problem..
Well I have a Mazda 6, 2.0 litre turbo diesel and I accidently and very stupidly put in £5 of petrol as soon as i realised I thought it wouldn't cause much of a problem if I just filled up with diesel (which later proved to be a huge mistake). After running on it for about 2 weeks, the car would start just automatically switching off on the road.... Read more
Glad you have finally soved the problem.

Hi
During the service two of the spark plugs have snapped while tiring to remove. The garage had stopped the work, called me for what i want doing. Being a bit cautious I have met the mechanic and he shown me the procedures he’s used to get the spark plugs off and again its snapped. He stated that I have couple of options either the cheaper or more costly. ...
My handbook and Mazda dealer confirmed, what I said. Although my new car came fitted as standard with 93 load V rated summer tyres, as long as my winter tyres are 93 load, I can use T, H or V speed rated winter tyres. My winter Pirelli Sottozero's arrived on wednesday from Germany. Unfortunately all our snow has gone.At least I won't get caught out again. For Info. My paramedic mate has been using Autosocks on his VolvoT6 Ambulance car in snow, ice and blizzard conditions and he says they are the dogs nuts. Well worth keeping a pair in your boot.
