People used to bring me some weird motors to fix in the late seventies/early eighties....Daf variomatic pick-up,Bond Bug,every Reliant 3-wheeler model ever built,Ladas,FSOs and a Moskovich to name a few oddities.Trouble was once the word got round that I tackled odd and awkward vehicles there was no stopping them.
Question is,do I remember correctly that I fitted some rear flexi hoses to the Moskovich because they didn`t come with them as standard?! Read more
We have been advised the rear suspension bushes in our 52 reg 92k estate should be replaced. Haynes say bushes cannot be replaced so suspension arms should be replaced.

Thanks for that. Not into tool fabrication! Trusty,really!, service guy now explains this is item to watch not requiring immediate action and agrees bushes can be replaced with expensive tool. Main dealer who wanted to do it 4 years ago was obviously flying a kite.

I'd say the place to start looking is electrical connections on the battery, fusebox and alternator. If you have one use a voltmeter and volt-drop test these areas for bad connections and bad earths.....
engine management light on.had camshaft sensors put in twice..and light still on..there is no change in performance of car however been told could be timing chain as shown on diag.there is no rattle either.could it be something else? Read more
Hi I have been having a problem with my heater switch on the center console. No lights light up around that section. The heater will not come on and the back window heaters do not cone on too. The radio and clock work fine. I have looked at the fuses but they seem fine. Any help please

I need to replace my PIRELLI P6000 195/65 R15 91H (or V) tyres on my 2001 BMW 320D Touring with alloy wheels . Are there any better tyres available with combination of smoother running or better traction in wet / on ice or better cornering or longer life? The MICHELIN Energy Saver publicity sounds interesting and Leeboy mentioned UNIROYAL Rainsport and a local company suggested AVON ZV3 - which are best? I only drive 8000 miles per year; 30% in dry / 70% wet or ice; 80% A roads / 20% M roads. Any advice would be appreciated. Read more

83k is not bad for a track tod end after all its a cheap component easily sourced and easily fitted probably the reason for worn the tyre wear.When you have replaced the part and tyre have in tracked to be on the safe side.
