mickyh7 has a point methinks, yet another insulting and patronising reply from Andy B. Yes people are entitled to their view but as you say there is a correct way and a wrong way. You seem to have set yourself up as a bit of a guru with firm views about just about everything (Jack of all trades comes to mind, with no intended insult) Perhaps "Rubbish" should be censored in the same way as scraapped.
As Voltaire once said "Doubt is not a pleasant state of mind but but certainty is absurd"... Read more

A couple of mechanics have told me these models don't have cambelts that require replacing. Can you confirm please if this is true, only doubts are raised in my mind when iv'e seen comments on several websites of people having problems with broken Vauxhall Cambelts. Unfortunately both handbooks are missing. Thank you... Read more
They do not have cam belts tis true, but that doesnt make them a better or stronger engine.
The original cam chain tensioners go weak at around 60,000....

had this renualt for three days got 42 miles for 15 pounds worth of fuel what is wrong Read more
It doesn't sound good but how did you arrive at the figures? Fill tank, drive 42 miles, needed £15 to refill it? On board computer? You will need a longer time and more miles to arrive at a good relaible figure IMO.
My tank holds 11.60 gallons. The computer shows 43 mpg. This would give 499 miles. When I fill it to the brim, the computer tells me I have enough fuel for only 405 miles. What is going on? Read more
I,ve never tested the remaining mileage part of my Audi on-board computer, but the MPG is pretty accurate compared to a brim to brim measurement, I'd say within .5mpg.
Many people say they are not afraid of any thing but a lonely walk through woods can be a scary experience for every one. The fact that woods are so lonely and stories of evil spirits at work really get us scared even thought woods are safe.

Get 3 or 4 people to push you and bump start it. If is starts OK then you have a cranking problem, could be low voltage and the fuel cut off if dropping out, an earthing problem or immobiliser. Also possible that a broken earth may be causing electical interference whilst cranking. You ideally need VagCom to monitor the live data whilst starting. This could also be a low output from Hall sender -G40 the crankshasft position sensor. Regards Peter
