Hi, first post on here, first of all a great site for car reviews, cheers.

I'll move it to Technical for you, and hopefully you'll get some suggestions.
It might help if you made it clear whether the dragging noise happens whenever the car is at this rev range, or only when it's moving.
I was wondering, are grey imports available in any other colours? Read more

This afternoon on the way to the local shops I came across a long line of landrovers and other vehicles, several emerging from a narrow path across some national trust land. Clearly they'd all taken that route. I stopped and asked if what they were doing was legal. They said yes. I told them that the destruction they cause is disgusting. Anyone know about the legal aspect?
I really do feel angry about this. I've tried cycling and running along many local paths through beech and pine woods but they are impassable and unsafe to use as they have been churned up by off road vehicles. Their occasional pleasure means that no-one else can use the paths. These are not roads, but mud paths, barely wide enough for an off roader. They are not safe for horses, bikes, walkers or runners due to the deep ruts and uneven surface. I've tried cycling, but gave up. I've tried running but gave up. I even went running down one steep path that is just about passable and my way was blocked by a 4x4 coming up the hill. I had to climb up a steep bank, and sidle along at a 45 degree angle to get past.... Read more
I`ve temporarily left examples of posts that i`ve been editing out and hiding. It`s not the usenet at large, gentlemen. This is a family orientated forum and future posts of this nature will be deleted and accounts considered for suspension.
Thanks to all the forum members who entered into reasonable debate....
I'm looking at buying a 57-plate C5 1.6HDi VTR+ with 1500 miles on it. It was used for demo purposes by Citroen but is not surplus to requirements (new VTR+ trim) and is quite a reasonable price.

With this particular engine do not ignore the oil change intervals or the turbo bearings will fail - other than that they are reliable and very economical - even in a big car like the C5. My Brother's one easily attains over 50mpg. If you plan to keep the car a long time get the oil changed between services at a quick change centre such as FormulaOne. I have always changed my oil between services and have never experienced any engine mechanical failures in 25 years of motoring - often running up very high mileages.
While they don't ride like Citroëns of old they are streets ahead of most other cars in this respect. The suspension doesn't need touching for 5 years. My C5 is 7 years old and the suspension is still perfect - it's never been touched.
If it's a model fitted with a DPF you'll have to give it a good thrashing on a motorway occasionally, Citroëns use an oil additive system, don't let it run out or the particulate filter will block quickly.
Hi,
Further to my earlier post today, does anyone know where the power relay for the ECU is on this car. Ive looked in the Haynes manual and it only mentions a 'power hold relay' in the pre-heating circuit and was wondering is this the same thing?... Read more
Hi. Who knows?. Thanks for your input
Hello I have a 97 406 LX 1.8 16v, which apparently did not come with a Multi functional digital display as standard. The wiring loom is there, and I have managed to get a display with the same 15pin connector. The handbook seems to indicate that the display is controlled by the end of the wash/wipe stalk but the bit you push in seems seized up. Is it possible to get this working. I have it plugged in, and it lights up with 4 ---- symbols on the display so there is power there.
Thanks Bob Read more
Is there such a thing as a car with a choice of horns (loud or soft)?
I don't know of any. But if your horn is loud enough to be heard by somebody in another vehicle at motorway speed, it's going to be far too loud if you just want to give a gentle warning to a pedestrian or a cyclist. Read more
With all cars I have ever owned, I could vary the loudness just by touching the button gently. If you barely engage the pad, push or whatever so that there is barely an electrical contact, the horn gives a friendly little wavering toot. Hammer the button and it gives the full blast.
You just need to practice finger-light control for all stages in between.
I am trying to service an LPG vehicle with a Lovato installation. It is simply the case of changing the filter and setting it up correctly.
My question is: where can the filter be located. I have include a link to the manual (refer to page 25 for the manual).... Read more
I have come accross this interesting website:

Strip the door card off and look for anything loose inside the door. Make sure the window pantograph is securely bolted up.
Its had a new screenwash motor fitted and the front and rear pipes are transposed on the pump under the wheelarch liner on the offside behind the bumper.
