FIAT Punto - Dragging Noise on MkII Punto. - Crowder

Hi, first post on here, first of all a great site for car reviews, cheers.

my question is, a month or 2 ago my car started to make a strange noise when the revs are low. At about 2-3 thousand revs in there seems to be a strange noise which sounds like metal dragging along the floor. I've looked under the car and can't see anything, but i think it might have something to do with the wheel.

I am taking it to the garage to get my tracking sorted out as it veers to the left a fair bit when i let go of the wheel, could this be related?

I'll move it to Technical for you, and hopefully you'll get some suggestions.

It might help if you made it clear whether the dragging noise happens whenever the car is at this rev range, or only when it's moving.
