Hi all. Lovely forum you have here
Just need some help with probably the most daft mistake I could have made.
I have a VW Golf MK4 Automatic.
I opened the door and put the keys on the dash.
I put my luggage in the back.
I shut the back door.
The vibrations then caused the keys to slide down the dashboard and into a mysterious place in the right hand side of the front window.
Now i tried a pipe-cleaner / stick up the side trim to try and hook them out and unscrewing the plastic below the steering wheel. Ideally I need the top of the dashboard off.
Has anyone any answers?

If you can`t get a magnet ended rod down due to the ridgidity - I would epoxy adhesive a strong magnet onto a length of strong string and lower that down....

We have laguna book for renault 1.9, 2001-2005, will look for some answers in this for you, this is our other car, which the gearbox is screaming, need a s/h box from england can`t find anybody who will deliver to us in france. So bought the estate cheap for running around in this .... country. Renault parts are very expensive here, trying to repair ourselves.
Hi. I will try and make this as short as possible.
I purchased a vehicle (Citren Saxo 1.1) a few months ago. It was to be shared between myself and my son.
Me the main driver/ son named driver. (Son new driver 21yrs old.) Because of this the policy originally cost me £1,500.
All above board explaining car was a cat C (all paper work present, VOSA/VIC checks.)
This worked well until I got my other car back onto the road.
As soon as this was the case, I contacted the insurance and explained the situation, stating that my son would now be the main driver and I may have to use the car myself sometimes, so I would now be a named driver.
This cost me another £1000. Insurance policy total £2,5000. ( £1,850 in total paid up front to keep monthly payments/interest down.)
My son has now saved the money to pay me for this vehicle and wanted it in his name.
I called insurance and they said the only way to do this is to cancel policy (as the vehicle would be owned by someone else?)and start a new one BUT I will lose 2 thirds of money for cancellation of policy! (Approx £1,750+!) Then new policy would cost the same again, approx another £2,500!
They said the car is fine in my name and all legal as I have declared everything and changed son to main driver.
However, my concern is as he is the main driver of the car now, I would really prefer (as my son would) that the car is registered to him.
It would only be a change of names on the log book. Address/ his job/everything etc is exactley the same.
Is the insurance company within their rights to do this as it is only a change of keepers name and if so and anything did happen, would I as registered keeper be liable for anything?
Policy is a fully comprensive and been totally honest with insurance from the get go, however, just feel insurances always look for a way not to pay out if anything did happen! Is there anything they are not telling me etc?
Advice would be very much appreciated.
Thank you

For information only I had no problems whatsoever transferring my no claims from the UK to Gernany and back again twice over.
I was stupid enough to park in a 'first 2 hours free' car park at a shopping centre today forgetting to take and display the ticket from the machine....
So when I went back to my car it had a 'Parking charge notice' stuck on the driver's window. This asks me to pay £25 within 14 days (£50 otherwise).... Read more
Hi Percy, just updated my experience with private parking companies. See Private Parking Comapnies post update 6/7/10. Don't pay up, you are just feeding their greed. Concrete
My parked car was reversed into causing damage to the ,bumper, hatch and tow bar-I have 5 years old Galaxy.
The driver's insurance assessor has inspected my vehicle and is insisting the hatch is reiared. I don't think this is fair as I feel it will depreciate the value of my vehicle.
His reply was claim off your own insurance if you want a new one!
Do I have a legal right to insist on the hatch being replaced or will I have to settle for a repiar

You have the right to be put back to where you were so if the repairs cost more than the car is worth they will write it off and if they are not they will repair it.
There is such a thing as a diminution of value claim which comes into play in some circumstances....
I have a Fiat Brava P reg 1.6 and it when I press the foot brake the car pulls to the right. Sometimes I hear a single knocking noise when I turn a corner or go over a bump. The left wheel also has a lot of heat coming off it when driving. Can anyone shed some light on what is causing this and how to fix it. Read more
Braking and heat problem, L/H brake caliper seized. knocking noise, if only when cornering probably a CV joint, if in a straight line, suspension drop link or rubber bushes.
