International Drivers and no claims - CrazeUK

Hi Guys, i am new to this forum.

I am giving a friend of mine who is an international student my old car. It is probably valued at no more than 500.

He is from Egypt, has been in the UK for 2 years as a post graduate student. In Egypt he drives and has a 8 years no claims.

He hasnt yet converted his licence but is considering getting a UK licence.

He is 28 years old.

I have tried to get him a quote via confused.com and his quotes are coming in at 1700 on average.

I even atempted to put down he has a UK licence from June 2010, but it is still the same.

Does anyone know why this is?

Also can he use his international no claims in with UK insurance companies?

A quote engine won't be able to handle the enquiry so it will just quote the maximum. You need a broker. Also Adrian Flux do recognise foreign NCB:

For information only I had no problems whatsoever transferring my no claims from the UK to Gernany and back again twice over.
