My 2002 hdi meridian is riding low on the rear and the o/s inner tyre almost touches the inner arch I'm running on 195 55 15's so nothing too unusual and there's reasonable clearence on the n/s. Kwik fit 'think' it's got and adjustable spline system? or an expensive repair. There's no rumbles or knocking and it rides just clear of the bump stop but sits lower on o/s. Firstly have you posted and searched on www.pug306.net/forum/ there is lots on the rear beam.
Yes they do fail and when they do normally the wheels (one or both) start leaning inwards and the handling invariably suffers too. My car, the Citroen Xsara (same suspension at the rear) had the problem that there was no lean at all, but the rear was seized solid- no movement in it at all. to give you and ides of cost:
Rear beam sourced myself £80
Fitting and new brake fluid £120
Rear shock absorbers £90.
So not cheap but cheaper than buying another car!
Fiat Punto - the dashboard handbrake warning light is coming on when driving at certain quite low speeds but goes off when you stop. The light work fine when you put the handbrake on to park. Seems something is loose or reacting to the forward movement of the car to make a contact somewhere and thus the light comes on.
Not had a really good look as yet but thought I would ask if anyone had had this before or could diagnose the reason.

hi my rear diff lock has stopped workin,,
does anyone know if its electrical or air operated,,
all fuses are fine,but i cant find an air compressor,,,
oh it was working fine,,and made a 2 second buzzing noise when swiched on and both wheels locked up as expected.

In case it is of interest to anyone, the Kwik-Fit battery referred to above has just died. Kwik-Fit's replacement price is over £100; I've just bought a Bosch Silver S5004 from Costco for £48.28.
