Breakfast at Guildford - Doc
Apart from Little Chef, where can I get a good cooked breakfast in the Guildford area (A31) at about 7am?
This will be a break in a trip to Dorset, so needs to be not too far off the main road.

I expect the greasy breakfast joints in lay-bys have been moved on, but there used to be a van/caravan close to the Devil's Punchbowl that served a mean bacon roll and cup of tea.

All the big supermarkets cafes seem to start at 0800.

Do not know how grand a breakfast you are aiming for.
Maybe something near Guildford station ?
Lots of early customers to a reasonably large staion that is very close to the A3 ( assuming you are going A3 /Hogs back) and easy to get to /from.

Pick a decent-looking hotel and walk in as a cash customer.

Theres a hotel in guildofrd just off the A3 at the a320 turn. Think its a premier inn. Has a pub attached that does walk in hot full english breakfasts.

Sounds just the job, thanks!
I've stayed at Premier Inns and found them excellent.

Good shout, most of the other customers will be paying cash, so you'll not feel out of place, which can be a weakness of my 'walk into a hotel' plan.

Update:

The Premier Inn offered an excellent breakfast at £ 7.50 (eat as much as you like)

Recommended.
