My rear washer has stopped working. When you push the stork I can hear the washer motor but only for a short while. It doesn't continue to buzz. No water is expelled from rear jet. Front works fine. I don't know if it uses the same motor for front and back?
I have tried cleaning the jet with a fine wire from a wire brush no luck. I disconnected pipe from jet and no water is getting to the jet. Any ideas appreciated. Thanks. Read more
hi, ive got the same proble, taken the pastice ocver off, tried suck and cleaning head with pin, but doesn't seem to work, have you fixed your problem if so how, maybe will take to a mechanic and try to fix it, please contact me at gurps4u@hotmail.com if you manged to fix the problem to i can do the same, do you know what the likeyl cost to fix would be
hi there new to this forum stuff so forgive if a go on a bit! basicly while on a long and dull motorway drive the turbo stopped working no strange bangs or smoke etc.. just no turbo . found somewhere to stop did usual looksie nothing obivous started her back up and hey presto working turbo! is at an omen for worst things to come? any enlightment would be gratefully received cheers Read more
You need to check for fault codes to help get to the bottom of it. Maybe it went into limp mode by the sounds of it, but was reset when you switched the IGN off. If it happens again, get a VW specialist to read the codes with VAG COM.
Hola, I have just had an experiance with a 1998 Audi A3 petrol. I am a mechanic, but am baffeled as to what Ive missed. I was stripping out the dash to replace the heater matrix. Half way through the strip out I needed to start the car, but the imobalizer light just flashed and it wouldn't start. I carried on re fitting the dash, looking carfully that I hadn't disconected any sensors. got the dash back in place, tried it and whoopee it started. But I would like to know what the hell I had removed to cause the problem.

as peter has said the imobilizer panel is in the dash as with many cars now.
Hi can any one help iv got a s reg 406 2Lt petrol Lx which has just started to misfire.
iv replased spark plugs with pug ones and also replased spark pack , thought it may be the injector so replaced it ans still misfireing as if only runing on 3 cylinders

its not the spark pack tested on outher car (406) and it works ok , i think it more likly to be an out let valve on number 2 cylinder did comprestion test and its low and im geting a detanation sound from inside the exsurst pipe befor the cat so the fuel must be going out though the valve .

I've had my MG for 5 years and knew when I bought it that MG's have a problem with their head gaskets blowing. However I have had two blow in the last four years (last one repaired Dec 2007) and today it has gone for a 3rd time (although the car is not over heating, I have white smoke coming out of the exhaust and a distinct lack of power)
Is this normal ?? I thought a head gasket, once done, would last for years!? Is it something I am doing ??

Head gasket is the likley culprit but they are also prone to the inlet manifold gasket leaking on no 4 cylinder causing coolant to get sucked in creating clouds of white smoke.
As already mentioned head skim & new bolts & quality gasket & NEW CYL HEAD DOWLS are essential when carrying out HG repair.
I have repaired too many to count & never experienced a failure 2nd time around
I was looking to buy a new Mondeo @ around 17-18k-ish, but having shopped around a new C-series Estate, which is about the same size, will cost roughly 22k. So, question is, given the scale of discounts on offer and residuals, which one will make the most financial sense if intending to sell in 3 years? I have skipped to the bottom (end) of this post after reading the first one. I have a 1995 E class 320 petrol. Employee has a 'w' reg Mondeo Ghia. EVERY time I would have the Ford. No comparison I am afraid. Merc' goes like stink etc etc etc, but in real world terms get practical. Yes yes I know it's boring, but I'm just saying...........OK?

The first registered keeper of my Focus was an employee of Ford Motor Company, and the car was bought at one of these auctions by my local Ford dealer. I just told the dealer what model, variant, and colour I wanted and they got one within days. They charged me £1000 under book price and I was well pleased.

Centre console,right at the back,where the carpet ends.You will probably need to remove the underdash panel below the glovebox.There is a 5-pin electrical connector attached to it.hth


I had a Golf IV and the doors lock failed to lock properly. It would deadlock. There was a problem on these cars back then and a new lock sorted it.
Sounds like you might need a replacement lock. The only surprise is mine was not right from day one in August 1999. But stolen Feb 2000. But it needed two new lock mechanisms.
