I've seen quite a few - it's more a mid life facelift than a Mk VI.

I agree, it's more mk5.5 than mk6.
I think it's quite a nice update, with a much tidier and smarter looking front end than the mk5. I don't think "radical" ever applies to a Golf update. They tend to evolve, become more rounded (and swell!)

But it is really a Mk 5.5 - it shares the same chassis for a start. They have improved it with better materials but also made it cheaper to make. So they win and we win. The Mk 7 will be along fairly early.
This is a bit like the Mondeo Mk 1 to Mk 2 leap which some (including HJ) do not consider a new model. It was a facelift.
But then again they used the same chassis in the current Astra as they did in the last one didn't they?
