  Hi, I have recently fitted a 1.4 zetec SE engine (2001) into a mk4 ford fiesta 1.25 (1998). Upon attempting to start the engine the engine is cranking but wont fire. It appears to want to fire but there is something stopping it. I have had a diagnosis on the ECU where a problem with the crankshaft sensor was discovered, which in due course was replaced.

  I don't know of anybody who has replaced an exhaust on on a car less than 6 years old. Is this a common problem? Going to see the Ford dealership tomorrow for them to inspect...their parts department has confirmed they have never sold an exhaust for such a young car. Any comments?
• Ford Focus Remote Key Fob 6 Feb 2008 (Forum)
  The range was getting shorter and shorter so I replaced the battery which helped for a while - then it became erratic when it worked. Yesterday it stopped working all together. I've tried reprogramming the remote using the Ford procedure but the fob doesn't seem to respond in the programming mode. Is this a common failure point? I've seen the fobs on EBay so I'm now wondering if I should try and get a second hand one and reprogramme that instead.

  HI can anyone help.....? I have a ford courier van which is basically a fiesta year 2000,the heat is a problem the tempature adjuster on the dashboard does'nt seem to work when it is on cold it is hot and when on hot it is hot and now i was driving to work today and the heater was on hot ,hot air was coming out then after about 10 mile down the road it suddenly went cold and it stayed cold the rest of the way.got to work stopped for about 10 mins then had to move my van and when i got in the heater came on hot...?

  I have a 2002 Ford Mondeo Ghia X V6 which is showing the following fault codes P0133, P0153, P0302, P1000, P1519 (see P2006). In terms of its actual performance, it does jerk at times especially if one comes from high speed then slows down and then tries to accelerate again.

  This has nothing to do with the previous thread petrol in diesel this problem has been happening for a while. intermittent non starting of ford galaxy, no response when the ignition key is turned, dash board lights up it makes a knocking sound but when you turn the key further nothing happens, however lt happens occasionally and normally resolved it self if you go back an hour or so later.

  Hi all I have a Ford Focus 1.6LX Auto which I have not used for a couple of weeks. When I drove it today, it made loud "twanging" noises from around the near-side front part of the car while driving along. I decided to turn around at the bottom of the road and drive back home in case driving the car more could exacerbate the problem.

  Appreciate some help with the following info: A quick overview of the procedure to replace: Does the drum need to be removed? Does the wheel bearing need to be replaced too? How long would it take? Can a ford hub nut be re-used or does it need to be replaced? How much would you expect to pay to have this done at a garage (london)?   Hi, friend of mine has a converted Camper van, I think its over 10 years old and its a derv and auto box. Two questions, he is in North Surrey, any suggestions on a good local derv specialist? Ford seem to struggle with the car, he often has to take it to the bigger dealership a few miles away where they can "plug it in". The actual problem is when going over 60 or going up a steep hill and giving it the beans, the EML comes on, then it goes into limp home mode.

  Hi All, I would really appreciate your help i have a 1998 ford escort gti which has started to develop a problem with the drivers lock, When you dead lock the car it seems to jam the drivers lock and wont open and if i try and open it from the passenger side the central locking goes crazy.

  Hi, As mentioned in the title I have a 1995, 1299CC, Ford Escort Encore, 5 Door Hatchback. Its currently got 10/40 semi synthetic in it which I put in last time it was serviced because I had the oil for free, I understand this is the wrong oil! Now the engine does sound a little bit tappy when running, I have been told this is perfectly normal for the age/type of engine and that its more of an annoyance than it is a problem, I was advised that if I was to put a thicker oil in it will quieten down.

  hi hope someone can help, my 1999 ford courier van with 1.8 Endura engine is an absolute pig to start in the morning, had new glow plugs...be it cheaper ones, but to no avail!!! to start i have to turn ignition, wait for light to go out then repeat 3 times to get started. if i try 1st turn it turns over for probly 20secs before firing up with a puff of white smoke!!!!

  I'm looking to buy a used Ford Galaxy which I intend to use for long distance driving ( 600+ miles in a day). Doing a search on Autotrader for upto £8000, diesel and cruise control only gives a handful of results (22). A search without cruise control returns 200+ Does anyone have any experience driving long distances in the Galaxy and if so, would you say that you can do without cruise control?

  On cold start up (usually) a large cloud of greyish smoke comes out of the exhaust (I can smell it whilst sat in the car) and the revs seems to hunt a little until the engine gets warm - my local Ford main dealer couldnt find anything wrong and I am about to ask him to look again.   A few weeks ago someone stole both side indicators (cover, bulb & bulb holder) from my Children's 2004 Fiesta. I managed to obtain the covers and bulbs from our local Ford dealer for a reasonable £11 but the bulb holders are only sold as part of the wiring loom (at least £600). Phoning around breakers yards failed to turn up any suitable parts. Fords technical phone line (£1 per minute) could offer no advice other than to try my dealer again.

• Flooding a diesel (Ford Galaxy) 20 Nov 2006 (Forum)
  Initially I thought it was a tow to the garage job, but I kept on trying and it did start eventually. Can diesels (Ford 2.0 TDCi in my case) get flooded by themselves? I know about not starting modern petrols for a very short time as that can cause them to flood, making later attempts to start them a problem. I took the car to the garage and they found no fault codes, but did update the 'engine software' for me.

  Well, I narrowed my search to following models: Vauxall/OPEL ASTRA G 1.6 gasoline 2001 FORD FOCUS 1.8 TDDi or 1.6 gasoline They seem to be best-buys, but would you recommend something else and what would you choose? Today I tested both and found Astra too firm and hard on road and Focus excellent but cheap looking dash-board.

  Hello, The fan in my p reg ford fiesta was stuck blowing out at level four even when it was switched off. I took the radio out to look at the wires and when I moved them (very slightly) a tiny flame appeared and I blew it out straight away.
