Hi, friend of mine has a converted Camper van, I think its over 10 years old and its a derv and auto box. Two questions, he is in North Surrey, any suggestions on a good local derv specialist? Ford seem to struggle with the car, he often has to take it to the bigger dealership a few miles away where they can "plug it in".
The actual problem is when going over 60 or going up a steep hill and giving it the beans, the EML comes on, then it goes into limp home mode. He pulls over, switches off and on then continues fine. Wonder if anyone has any ideas????
Cheers.

Given the number of different engines that Ford fit in Trannys "over ten years old;" it's going to need full vehicle details - and the fault-code - to give any accurate advice.

If it's a diesel van over ten years old,I wonder if the electronics are Ford-some early ones used Lucas electronics.

hate to be disloyal, but try the Transit Van forum, very good - but you will need the engine details etc, no one has a crystal ball.

if its one of the last of the mk 5"s t/v reg then these seem to have eml problems,i would suggest an earlier injector pump be fitted and all that emmissions nonsense thrown away
this is what i would do anyways

I don't want to get involved in diagnosing the fault, i don't have anymore details I just want to offer my friend the details of a good derv specialist. I think it is Lucas based. Can anyone suggest a good place in North Surrey/SW London???
