A few weeks ago someone stole both side indicators (cover, bulb & bulb holder) from my Children's 2004 Fiesta.

I managed to obtain the covers and bulbs from our local Ford dealer for a reasonable £11 but the bulb holders are only sold as part of the wiring loom (at least £600). Phoning around breakers yards failed to turn up any suitable parts. Fords technical phone line (£1 per minute) could offer no advice other than to try my dealer again.

It's clear from the clips on the ends of the wires that the bulb holders are actually separate items, but Ford don't sell them. Does anyone have any suggestions as to where I can obtain the bulb holders?

if you cant find a part of ebay then just any indicator holder that will go into your indicators will do ,maybe a little trim with a file
as for the wires then just use cheeseblock available from any hardware store

Thanks for the advice to buy on e-bay - have ordered a pair.

btw Fords have provided an official response to my email to them saying they looked into selling bulb holders but it was "not economically viable and the idea was scrapped".

I dealt with Ford in 1993 with regards to locks on my Mk5 Escort and after they told me, quote, " we would consider it normal for a lock to need replacing after two years," the car was traded in within a week for a new Pug 306. Great Car.

New locks after two years........... I would not have believed it had I not heard it myself.

BTW I used to have a kit car based on a 1978 Escort that utilised the ignition barrell from the donor car. Perfect. Guess they dont make 'em like they used to........................

A candidate for the biggest load of carp / worst excuse from a manufacturer ever, surely.

The Tibbe locks on Fords last fine. We've got a 10yr old Fiesta on its original locks (with no remote, so the key is used every time the car is locked and unlocked.

Maybe so, but I bet the key (and the lock tumblers) will be showing signs of wear after 10 years. Eventually your Ford keys will require replacement - they always do.
