• Ford Focus II (2004 - 2007) - 05 1.6 Fuel pump problems 20 Nov 2010 (Forum)
  The problem initially happened about 12 months ago, when the car intermittently failed to start. After a long diagnosis period with a ford dealer it turned out that the fuel pump was failing to engage due to an apparently broken fuel pump. We ended up getting this replaced. About 4000 miles later, the car exhibitted the same symptoms so I took the car back to the ford dealer.

  I have now discovered the 05 model was the first of the new shape Focus and is fitted with a Mazda engine which does not have an engine cover,  subsequently rain water gets through to the cylinder head and is a well known problem. The main Ford dealer for my area informs me Ford know of this defect but have done nothing about it. Can anyone advise me of any practical way in which I can waterproof  the top of the engine or indeed any precaution I can take to avoid this happening again.

  Have a 2001 Ford Mondeo Diesel 2.0 litre DI DuraTorq that has a near stall problem.   I'd like some advice on brake disks for my mondy. The Ford original disks are pricey enough and only seem to last about 15-20K before they warp. I have recently started buying cheap ones from the local motor factor, for about £15 per disk. These are fine but warp after about 15K miles like the Ford ones.

  The Haynes Manual tells you to take it to a Ford dealer or air con specialist - what would people recommend ?   Hi, My girlfriends 2006 ford ka 1.25 has a fault at idle, she has been told by the ford dealer that the car is fine at both the 1000m/inspection and first year service, but having driven it myself there is definatley a fault!   The ford dealer did a diagnostic check and fixed a small rubber t piece on the vacuum system. The subsequent test drive noted the same problem. They then disconnected the MAF Sensor and told me the car needs a new idle speed control valve.
