Sometimes you’ll find a bag of standard wheel bolts that have been removed to install locking ones.
Check the contents of the bag they’re in - the locking wheel nut key may also be in there.

We. Eventually came to an agreement to split the cost of the replacement 50/50
So after finding a fault with your car a day after purchase you agreed to pay 1/2 the cost despite the law saying any fault within in the first 30 days should be fixed FOC or you are entitled to reject. The dealer clearly knew it was faulty, they would not have done any work if it had been OK....
I have a 1 litre Hyundai i10, a '64' plate but new in January 2015 which I bought four months ago. For a few weeks the red oil light has flashed on briefly on a few occasions, mostly either when hitting a pothole, speed ramp or cornering. It would come on for a second then go off. Christmas week however this became more and more frequent. Sometimes it would remain on when the car was started an only go off when just over 2000 revs were reached but would still then keep coming on and off. It's now developed a whirring or rustling sound coming from the offside area of the engine. I'm advised this may to do with the oil pump?
I'm not very good with cars so can't be sure. The noise is coming from the area the pump is apparently located however. I'm also warned there may be serious engine damage and I may need a replacement engine. The runs as well as it always has, the temperature gauge stay at the level it should. I've checked the oil which is at it's maximum level, perhaps a tad over.... Read more
<< Why didn't you read the manual or ask yourself why there is an oil warning light? Checking the oil level would be a good idea, do they not ask for how to do this as part of the driving test? >>

What is the use of digital compass inside cars?

Estimated mileage is 12-14,000 miles per year. Combination of ten minute journeys to work/nursery/shops, with longer journeys to clients (50-150 miles) a couple of times a week.
Borderline choice between petrol and diesel then. Although a diesel should use less fuel, that fuel usually costs more, so the saving is not great. Probably the complexity of modern diesels might be enough to tip the balance towards petrol - especially if you go near a ULEZ ?...
Hello Backroomers, I'm not sure if it's been covered (nothng in the search), but be warned that Targo Tyres (targo-tyres.co.uk) might appear to be a scam. I ordered four tyres in early December, nothing arrived. Despite many emails I've heard nothing. The phone number (of course) is unobtainable. Do let me kow if you'e had dealings with this company in the past. The website is one of the best, most comprehensive sites I've seen (for tyres), so I assume they were (or are) a legitimate company whose website has been taken over?
Interested to hear from anyone with info on them. My credit card company are being less than sympathetic as I made the transaction willingly online, they are more likely to refund if the transaction was made by fraudulently obtaining my card detail, which isn't the case.... Read more

I live on a coastal estuary. You'd be surprised how many brand new Range Rovers get stuck in the mud up to the axles 20 yards off the slipway because someone fancied trying it's or their off road capabilities! Wonder how insurance would work in that scenario!
