Seems that our "professional drivers" will now be able to buy booze whilst they are at the services resting up.... Read more
I have a radiator leak that requires 100-200ml (min mark to max) of topping up about every 100 miles. The radiator system itself takes only 1.5l of coolant.
Question: if I put half a can (125ml) of radweld into the radiator will that reduce the effectiveness of my antifreeze or am I worrying unecessarily?... Read more
Never tried them but there arealso those tablet things that are alleged to contain ginger root fibres - Barrs leak?- apparently approved by GM and known in the US auto trade as "Cadillac Aspirin"
Decided to have a drive around for a few days stopping overnight wherever I fancied. I noticed day one that one tyre was very slightly down on pressure. I topped up the tyre and popped into a tyre bay then another tyre bay and soon realised that the days of simply rolling up and waiting appear to be a thing of the past. Finally booked my car in for Sunday after arriving home Wednesday I could have got Saturday but this wouldn't be convenient.
My tyre hasn't obviously lost any pressure at this moment in time and my car has a space saver but it got me thinking what a major issue this could be for a whole range of people. I wonder what a young family stranded on holiday with a car full of luggage would do if told oh no problem we can fit you in tomorrow! I will never buy a car without some sort of spare wheel. My tyre issue. Another flat, nice nail in it. Repair tomorrow. Pressure sensor is of course useless as it didn’t tell me because it needs a while to recalibrate to let me know. I noticed the steering wasn’t right!

If the insurance company won't increase the offer, inform them and the other driver that you will use Money Claim to recover the £3K directly from the driver, other driver should then put additional pressure on his insurance company.
I am going to France and the requirements call for headlamp conversion for driving on right hand side of road. I have LED headlamps . Do I need to make any changes?? Read more
Thanks . I think its under settings.
Anyone taking their car in for an mot from today , will no longer get any paper print outs for the test . You can ask for a printed version if required. Read more
Previously you would automatically get a pass or fail sheet. This is no longer the case unless you ask for one .
My main dealer printed mine this time (a week ago). I will remember to ask for one next time just in case. Definitely less paperwork with the service this time, mentioning the 'electronic service record' quite a bit.
Posted a while ago on the big increase in my insurance. Guy on the radio from an insurance company said EVs repair costs, the price of parts, apparently some bumpers with all the electrics in some German cars can be £7K. The cost of specialist labour then parts from abroad being held up thereby increasing the length of hire car time all go to making the insurance rise. Oh for a simple car, as little gadgets as possible please serviceable on the drive as in years gone by. Read more
I've a friend who owns a body shop and gets all the gigs from the local BMW, Audi, Porsche dealerships, etc., (it's a nice set-up).
He said getting parts post Brexit is a nightmare and the prices have gone through the roof, (but obviously that's fake news right)?...
With journey times/distances being increased for cars arriving from the east their prices are predicted to rise by about £1000 to £1500. Just going on what I've heard. Read more
Maybe the USA could just have its war with Iran and everyone else can get on with their lives.
That wouldn't be a good idea, given it would make the oil shock of the early 70s look tame in comparison, and might even lead to WWIII and our destruction. Don't forget that, whatever any of may think about those in charge of the US, Iran is very near to being a nuclear state (thanks to the appeasers from the West) and has the support of both Russia and China....

Hi
Is there a way to find both the manufacturer month and year of a European “new” car I am buying? I tried VIN decoder and I think they are configured for American VIN and indicate that 10th digit is the year but that doesn’t make sense as it’s 7 which would mean 2007. Any specific decoder for European cars?
Is this info also stamped somewhere on the car body/engine? Just want to get an idea which month did the car come out of the production line. Read more
If it’s brand new, an assumption made from your other posts,
The OP only said "new", which I took to mean 'used' ?

It's really overnight parking not just a stop.
But there is a pub right next door ,even sharing the same access, so makes no real difference.
