Anyone drive a Scala 1.0SE? What are they like on the motorway?
I only had mine yesterday from a Skoda dealer in Swansea and when i was driving to Cardiff there was quite a bit of vibration, mainly the steering wheel and drivers seat. Read more
Just noticed one of my car keys is on low battery. I read that most of them last for a few years. This car is a 2014 model. So do I need to buy a new set for this particular model? I've got a spare so at least I'm good for the moment. Read more
It's odd as theses things are not usually unique to one model. I know it would be expensive but have you tried the dealer? Another method I find helps is searching google by just the part number. If you have that, then go to the 'shopping' tab items soon appear.
Hello, I am about to buy a Suzuki Ignis for my daughter. I service my older motorbikes and cars. Are any self-service manuals available so that I can at least undertake the simpler tasks such as changing oil, filters and replace service parts such as brake pads and shoes. Read more
Would this be the current model ?

Evening,
I picked up an old e36 to get me around and learn how to maintain cars myself. My thermostat is sticking open on the motorway and the engine temp is dropping on longer journeys so I'm looking at replacing it.... Read more
Anyway, I wouldn't risk upsetting the system and dislodging debris and introducing more corrosive oxygen by energetic flushing - I'd just top it up with more green coolant (e.g.Comma G38)
Hadn't thought of this, doubt its significant, and certainly wouldnt have done it for this reason alone, but, in boiling the coolant to get rid of air pockets (after my turbulent tap water flushing), I would also be removing any dissolved oxygen, (which would probably be present in the coolant with or without the turbulent tap water flushing)...
We are delighted with our (new to us) 2020 Vitara. However I find the indicators don’t self cancel on moderate turns, only on very deliberate ones. I know most cars won’t cancel on very gentle turns but this is more than that.
Does the Vitara work with physical pins on a ring in the steering column or is it some electronic system that’s maybe needing a reset?
I can’t see anything in the manual about a setting and nothing comes up on Google as to its being a known problem.
It’s bought from a main dealer but it’s an 80 mile round trip so I don’t want to just take it back just for a minor irritation. Subject to the back room view I might just log it with them for now and save it up for anything needing more urgent attention.
I certainly won’t be messing about with the steering column with the airbag in attendance.
Thanks for the reply. It’s hard to judge but I think 80 degrees is about what I am getting. So it’s normal but surprisingly large.
I had already found the flash facility and it allows 1-2-3-4 as settings. Now I may understand why it was set at 4 as it means you often don’t need to fully engage the normal mode with its reluctance to cancel....
Sorry if this sounds like a stupid question. So I’m finally learning to drive and I’m looking at getting my first car sometime this year. However I’m running into brick walls when it comes finding the right car. I’m learning to drive automatic (I find manual too hard) and I’m looking at all the dealerships websites in my area and all I’m finding is mainly manual cars. What automatic cars some do have are either old like 2005 plates or they’re 100k+ on mileage.
I know exactly what car I’m after a BMW 1 series, petrol or diesel, looked various models on autotrader and did insurance checks so to get a rough idea and I can afford it, since some of the BMW quotes were either similar or the same price as non BMW’s. Me sister bought her car from an independent dealer and me mum who was with her said me son’s looking at getting a car soon, they said “well when the time comes tell him to come down and we’ll look after him” So if I was to go to a independent dealership, do you think they could source a car since I know exactly what I’m looking for? BMWs are not expensive to fix because there is anything premium about them. They are much the same as anything else and there are loads of third party options and solutions.
However, old BMWs are a labour of love. They don't take age all that well sometimes and are nowhere near as robust as some might think....

I’m guessing the op is referring to the Epb operation switch . So E bay is probably the best option .
Hi, when I lock my car, instead of an independent alarm Chirp, the horn peeps very briefly.
Is this legal in the UK at night time?... Read more
I’ve not seen a 2019 Mercedes sound the horn on locking . Is it a selectable option on the car features menu ?
Yes, in the menu.
Honestly wouldn't expect that at all....
