you can probably test the electric cooling fan (prime suspect IMO) by jumpering it directly to the battery,If you connect it up backwards, thats the way it will go, so you'll know.
Will it? Fleming's left hand rule!...

a video of how poorly these cars performed when trying to avoid accidents, especially with (simulated) children, etc.
It will take a lot more years yet before they are capable of performing anywhere near what most people expect of them, and when you consider the programming involved even AI teaching will take a while as Elon said about his system...

"Are owners of Fords so forgetful that they don't bother to write the code down or change it / get it changed to one they can remember? Seems odd to me."
I hope you're not making the absurd suggestion there's some kind of sinister force at work here....
Someone on a forum, could have been here I can't remember, mentioned a scrap dealers that you contacted online who paid more than you'd get at your local scrappy. Anyone have an idea who that might be?

Such a statement is fundamentally flawed....
Please does anyone know whether the spark plug caps on this model should have a resistor? The coils are the originals and tested fine, but new spark plug caps are needed, so getting the right ones will obviously affect the strength of the spark. Many thanks :-) Read more
As I remember, the original caps had a metal cover on, every time it rained, you received multiple electric shocks to the legs!
My GT250 1976 was quickly changed to NGK caps and plugs!...

That's a great tip - nothing like experience to avoid the pitfalls - many thanks indeed :-)
I’m seriously considering buying one of these as they have car play and seem well priced.
But looking at some on auto trader (petrols) they seem to have 5 gears which surprised me.
My budget is 7500 max 8k.
My guess was that with 5 gears on the motorway that they might be a bit loud? Read more
We have a Fabia 1.0 turbo petrol 110PS in our household and whilst its a great engine I have one small issue with it, the mpg is not a huge amount better than the 2 x VAG 1.4 turbo petrols we have owned (one was 140 PS and the other 150 PS).
Over 3 years 8 months and about 34,000 miles the Leon averaged 45 mpg, over 3 years 8 months and 30,000 the Superb averaged about 46 mpg but over 4 years 10 months and 24,000 miles (Covid affected of course) the Fabia has averaged about 48 mpg. On long trips the 1.4's would just about nudge 55 mpg (at legal speeds and favourable weather) the 1.0 has done just over 60 mpg on the same trips). All have been manual 6 speeds....
Hi,
We’re looking to purchase a new car (Renault Arkana) via PCP and the dealer are offering 2 different deals.
Deal 1:
£3500 deposit followed by 47 monthly payments of £321 and an optional balloon payment of £14,746. This is based on an APR of 6.4%
Option 2:
£3500 deposit followed by 23 monthly payments of £334 and an optional balloon payment of £19,055. This is based on 0% APR
I can’t for the life of me work out whether we’d be better off taking 0% over 2 years, or 6.4% over 4 years. If we took the 2 years at 0% we would then look to take another car in 2 years as we don’t intend on paying the balloon payment for either deal.
I know it sounds obvious that 0% would be better as it means no interest is paid, but I can’t seem to get my brain to understand the savings over the 4 year period. I’m thinking this may be due to the fact that the initial depreciation of the car is the greatest, and by taking 2 new cars over the 4 years we’d be subject to twice this greater depreciation.
I’m hoping someone with a knowledge of car PCP or a greater logical brain than me can help ?? Read more
Hi
I would stick with the 0% options a no interest. Also the Ariana is likely to drop significantly in value so this might be worth considering after 2 years as most of your £3500 deposit may be gone!

When my son bought a car from a major dealer it'd had a plate change as the previous owner had a personalised number plate. The MOT certificate still had the personalised number but showed up under the new number on the gov MOT site. Having a personalised plate is common , we did a HPI search on the car which showed up dealer stock finance!
Infact Mrs BJ has a personalised plate (inherited) on her Panda which we will apply for plate retention and assign a new (original?) number back to the car when we eventually change cars....
