My BMW 320d handbrake light stays on even when the handbrake is down. The dashboard says 'braking system drive moderately' with the handbrake sign next to it, the brake pads need doing & it says that on the vehicle status so not sure if the dashboard message has anything to do with that? It did recently have an MOT done with one of the advisories being 'parking brake travel getting high'. Any ideas what this could be? Read more
I have seen a video on Youtube from America about cleaning carbon deposits from the engine valves by spraying a cleaning solution into the air intake. The cleaning product is called “Lucas Deep Clean GDI”. As it is only available in America, I was wondering if anyone knows an equivalent spray I could buy in the UK? Read more
Didn't that require you to pay 2 test fees, or are you on very good terms with the test centre?...
I’m 18 months into a three year pcp. Will I be heavily penalised if I end the pcp early, return the car and settle the balance? Read more
I bought a 20 plate Seat Leon in November and a few weeks ago the engine management light came on and subsequently went off. The dealership today told me it’s the evap and they’ll replace it under warranty. Is it normal for this to happen when the car is less than 3 years old and has done under 20,000 miles?
Thanks

Is this a petrol? I had a similar issue with my Skoda Superb 1.4tsi ( same mechanics as Seat etc) when I first got it - basically never go past the first click when filling with petrol otherwise it could trigger an evap error.
I've seen a few mentions of this recently on different forums - I wonder if it's when we find a cheap petrol station we try to get as much in a possible - hard times!
My Golf Mk4 2002 has just developed a worrying noise.
it sounds like a soft "graunch" in time with wheel rotation. Almost as if something is rubbing on a fraction of every rotation.... Read more

I need parking sensors and have been looking at Honda jazz which fit into this bracket but they are older ie 59 plates with approx 70-90k miles (some with lower on auto trader) . Other options are Ford Fiesta 2013 plate with 80-90k miles , Suzuki SX4 2012 plate with 45k miles, or something else?
Oh actually just found this which I think might do the job!

I had a Seat Mii (74bhp, 929kg) for four years and it was severely lacking on hills and joining the motorway. A shame, because it handled nicely.
The year we got our Daihatsu, we went (from Aberdeenshire) to Wigan and then on as far as Coventry to visit relatives. It had no problem maintaining an indicted speed of 75-80mph all the way down. On the way home coming up the steepest section of Beattock, the speed slipped down to 65mph, so I changed down to 4th and got back to 70 which it happily held till we got over the top. ...
I need to replace my battery. Found one on ebay for a good price. Checked against my current battery specs and it seems it would fit. Ebay system says incompatible but not trusting it, I asked the seller and they also said not compatible, and sent me a link to another battery which they said would fit, but that one has different dimensions (?).
Here are the links:... Read more

Hi all
Looking st purchasing a 2018 C220d estate AMQ line spec. Car has covers 54k. Anything I need to look for in particular (had Audi, BMWs but never a Merc). Are they cambelt or chain? Service intervals?
Thanks Read more
If it’s the 1.6 diesel (shared with Renault) it’s a chain.
I’ve that engine in a Megane and no adBlue in that application.
Came upon this in-car footage of a Lola T70 qualifying lap at Spa. Particularly impressed at the drivers bravery passing another car up the hill from Eau Rouge, because he appears to leave the track!.
And if you fast forward a couple of years from the 1984 Manx to the 1986 Manx (always my favourite round of the British Open championship), you’re at the peak of Group B rallying, at that point the fastest rally cars that had ever competed.
And, as an added bonus, you get a quick shot of a much younger me, marshalling on the rally (at 5:20).

Could be the brake fluid low , which is possible if the pads are worn out.
