Apart from the silly name, this car is welcome as a cheap entry point for motorists who want new and regret the phasing out of the C1. No aircon though. Certainly worth a look in addition to the Sandero. Looks like it might ride well with sensible deep profile tyres. Read more
Like most people I want to maximise mpg. Need to get 2 new front tyres. There is no evidence of uneven wear or signs when steering.
Is it worthwhile to get 4 wheel alignment ? Will it improve mpg ? With a ten year old car could it damage anything involved with the wheels ?... Read more
Thanks both, adding to my knowledge.
Hi, on my 2013 audi a4 2.0 tdi with 110k miles it shakes when accelerating on throttle, for example 60mph in 6th gear and put your foot in gradually the shake goes though the car and can see the gear stick shaking. The shake seems to be able to be controlled with the throttle, doesn't seem to come through the steering wheel
I have had it checked over by a reputable mechanic and he could not see anything wrong in terms of cv joints etc. He also done some road tests measuring fuel and boost pressure but all appeared normal. One thing he did say was the clutch appeared to be that of what you would expect with the miles but said there was no apparent flywheel or release bearing noise.... Read more
I had these exact symptoms on a mk5 golf gt tdi. Noticeable only in 6th when under load and frustratingly intermittent. As you said if on light throttle no issue but put it under load you could feel the car shake. A workshop changed my MAF sensor to no avail.
I didn’t spend much trying to troubleshoot it and decided to part-ex it. On the few days leading up to the part-ex it became constant in 6th but also effected 4th and 5th.
I added a super chip to my car which had been in it up until the problem started - to this day I’m convinced it contributed to the issue. My car only had 80k on it and the problems started at 65k.
If I was a betting man my money would be on the injector fault.
I'm buying a second-hand car, looking at a relatively recent but not brand new electric model. There is a 2020 Kia e-Niro for sale at a good price (by today's standards), much cheaper than other equivalent models.
The dealership has advised that the reason that the price is so low is because the previous owner didn't get it serviced in line with the warranty requirements, so there is no manufacturer's warranty (normally 7 years for Kia). Instead it would come with a 12-month warranty.... Read more
As others have stated, I'd definitely avoid that car. It smells fishy.
If the car was genuinely good, then I'm sure the dealer could have inspected it, brought the servicing up to date and arranged with Kia UK that the 7-year warranty should be honoured even though the first owner was lax. After all, it's only 2 years old. ...
My A1 is due for an MOT in June. It has only done 6000 miles. It received its first years service at the Audi Agents and its second year service at Halfords. Now a third year service and an MOT but where ? Is it worth going back for a possible upgrade at the Agents at considerable cost !! or simply using a local garage - its 'aircon' also seems a bit 'low' ?It has been used all of the time - a little !
Many thanks. Gerald... Read more
Follow the rules?? How many blindly stick to this nonsense. They are designed to put money into the hands of dealers.
Quite probably, but in the end it is up to each owner to decide whether to risk calling on the warranty. If that doesn't happen, great. If by misfortune it does, tough; and even if it doesn't happen, the car may fetch more and be easier to sell. If you don't intend to sell (like John-F) it doesn't matter much. It all depends what is required.
Good value. Read more

Citroen's spec sheet states manual air conditioning
I'm looking to replace our worn-out 2006 honda jazz which we have had no mechanical issues with in the 6 years of ownership. So would like similar reliability in our next purchase, however I would like a bigger car with more boot space having a dog and two kids things to cart around. We would like to spend around £6-7000, I tend to do short journeys so leaning towards petrol but struggling to find anything suitable that's not diesel. I've looked at Hyundai, Kia for reliability but size and price are a problem. Also would like mpg similar to jazz at 42 mpg.Is there anything out there to fill our requirements? Read more
Yes that was probably me. I liked my 2012 Civic a lot. However it went from not needing any topping up between services until it was six years old to (from memory) about a litre every 10k. That’s not too bad if were to stabilise at that but it seemed to be getting worse. At that point the buying itch set in.
Hi, I'm after some advice about finance as I'm trying to help out a friend. Car shop phoned my friend and told her that her car is in positive equity. The car has 2,000 left outstanding on it and their valuation is 5,000 although looking on autotrader I've seen these jukes on forecourts for 8,500 same age, same mileage. They said she could either use the equity to get another car or have it as cashback? When they say cashback how does that work, it does sound straight forward I know, but I wondered what it really means? And what the process of it all is?
Thanks in advance..... Read more
If she like her car, and it is reliable, stick with it and be debt free asap.
Wouldn't a Juke auto of that age have Nissan's (in)famous CVT made of cheese?....
As has already been stated, the Citroen configurator says it has manual air conditioning. Therefore the article is wrong. Either wrong information was supplied to HJ by Citroen or sloppy writing.
Strangely, metallic paint (one colour) is standard and flat white a £295 extra.
