Would swapping a halogen reflector headlight unit with a xenon unit (also for a DS4) would work or the car ECU would just not recognise it? My car currently doesn't have xexon (besides MOT considerations) Read more

The earlier C4s with Xenon headlights had self levelling via the rear suspension and headlight washers. That made the cost of conversion uneconomic. In some cases if the cost of Xenon reflector shell assemblies was included (c. £1,000 each from the Citroen dealer) it was cheaper to trade in for a model with original factory fitted Xenons.

Not sure if this applies to newer DS4s as the regs have changed a bit since then.

The two large heater buttons on my transit connect have pushed out back of panel and need to be rreattached.cant see how to remove panel,is there a knack? Read more

You need to remove the radio , then release the centre console panel (screws)to access the heater controls . I’m assuming this is a pre 2013 connect.

I signed up to a PCP agreement on 06/04/22. Placing a deposit online. My circumstances have changed and it’s no longer viable for me to enter the agreement.

The dealership have told me that I have lost my rights to a 14 day cooling off period because I have signed a credit agreement.

I haven’t seen the car in person or set foot on dealer premises.

Having mentioned distance selling regulations, the dealership have said these do not apply as I have already bought the car.

The dealer has said the only way to back out is to find fault with the car.

They gave me two options. Either pay the full settlement of £45,000 in full or go ahead with collecting the car whenever I can.

No V5 signed. No road fund in place. Have not even changed over my insurance.

What are my rights? If any. Thank you. Read more

Not that it will make any difference, but this dealer needs reporting to the relevant trade body responsible for enforcing the distance selling regs.

It's reprehensible that they attempted to basically defraud you (and that it took a word from a solicitor to settle this).. I assume from the figures quoted it was a main dealer?...

Having turbo/boost issues on my Qashqai

Have been recomended to try Revive Turbo cleaner - which involves disconnecting the turbo inlet and injecting the solution directly into the trubo intake after the MAF sensor

Problem is - the car just wont start if the turbo intake pipe is not connected

Is there something obvious I'm doing wrong?

Thanks Read more

Thanks all

Revive has now been sprayed in - and so far - Limp mode seems to be fixed !! (fingers crossed)

We have about 4k+ for a used petrol estate and we've had a quick look at a few. Dacia Logan MCV 0.9, Focus , Astra, Kia and an older Avensis

I suppose they will all do a job as an estate but we can get a much newer Logan ( probably 2013 ) than any of the others ( more like 2008 ). Also the savings on car tax and petrol for around 5000 miles would be around £500+ per year... Read more

SWMBO has been with LV= for several years, and the renewal premium usually creeps up a bit. If she thinks the increase seems a bit too much she usually talks it down again over the phone. I think she rather enjoys it.

Hi all, I'm new to the forum so please forgive me if this topic has been covered but I've been struggling to find any advice on this issue.

I recently purchased a 2017 Mazda3 2.2d Sport Nav, which is fantastic but very different from the VAG cars I've had in the past where there's lots of advice available.

The car has only covered 47k (full Mazda SH) and is in good nick to be fair. I am experiencing a strange judder when pulling away in 1st gear; which seems to be less severe if I pick the revs up a little than I normally would. Initially it got me thinking DMF or clutch but I've spoken to several Mazda dealers who say it's extremely rare to see this in these cars, particularly at this mileage.

On heavy load in gear it's as smooth as silk and changing gear is also fine. I have it booked in for diagnostic tomorrow with my local dealer but I'm concerned they'll start charging through the nose before getting to the bottom of it. I wondered if anyone has had a similar issue? If so what was the outcome and cost implications?

Any advice is massively appreciated. Read more

I have the same in my CX-5 (petrol) and it's my understanding that it's a common*, but insignificant fault caused my condensation in the clutch, resulting in judder. Once the car is warmed up the problem disappears.

In dry, warm weather it's absent....

Oh dear , think we have all seen this clip. Is it too late to do anything about it ?

Most likely their antivirus software is flagging a false positive...would be interesting to know which software they run....

My wife and I split our year between Thailand, Spain and the UK (we don't work - we have a residential property portfolio in UK). We have a car in each country. In about three weeks' time we will be leaving Thailand to spend early summer at our villa in Mojacar. Now previously when I have laid up my car in Thailand (usually for four months) I have just disconnected the battery and inflated the tyres to 40psi. The car is parked on a covered parking deck at our condominium. Its sheltered from the sun and rain, but open to the air. The area is kept very clean by a team of cleaners. Normally on my return there is a thick layer of sticky dust on the car - so its straight off for a valet. But no other problems.

With the new Toyota I have just purchased the dealer gave me a Toyota-branded fitted car cover. Its silver on the outside and has a soft lining on the inside. I am wondering whether I should use it or not. I have read that car covers can damage the paint. Any experience of this? Read more

I kept a spare car in our barn over winter a few years ago and covered it with a cheap cover to stop it getting covered with pine tree dust which blows in under the roof sheet joints, I looked under the cover after a few weeks and found the car was wringing wet with condensation so off it came.

I have just renewed my licence on line and the new one arrived at home in the post on the third morning. There doesn't seem to be any delay in using the DVLA on line provided that there are no changes that need recording. Read more

I sent my license and medical to the D V L A back in March, in May they contacted me by letter saying they could not fined ( LOST) my license or medical I did not reply as it would have been a waste of time it is now the 20/9/2022 no license no nothing, so what I have done is to instigate legal action against the D V L A for misplacing my medical and license,I have written to them informing them that legal action to obtain my license enabling me to drive all vehicles will continue unless I receive my License enabling me to drive all types of vehicles , I have given them 10 days to comply or I will continue with legal action, now lets see what common sense tells them to do, that is if they have any which I doubt
