Hey. I was washing a friend's Mercedes 1997 W202 C Class. I pulled the (single) windscreen wiper up somewhat in order to wash the car. Now the windscreen wiper won't go back down to touch the windscreen. Does anyone have any ideas as to what I can do? Many thanks. Read more
I had exactly the same issue when our car was shunted and badly damaged. The insurer's assessment engineer rang me after looking at the many pictures I sent them and wrote off the car because the cost of repair was above the value of the vehicle ( £5191 against a value of £4600 ). I was unhappy that he did not carry out a proper hands on inspection and relied purely on his database of similar accidents along with my pictures. This is not good enough and I then referred the vehicle to a local repairer who carried out the repairs, to satisfaction, coming in below the costing of the insurer. This was last month, March 2022. I've always been interested in electric cars and I'm actually considering buying one in the future. It's great to read reviews about different options, like the https://www.p***edconsumer.com/company/citade/customer-service.html citadel customer service when you think where is better to take a loan for buying car. It's important to gather all the information we can when making a big decision like purchasing a new car.
How do you come up with a max speed of 37 MPH for your self driving car. Apparently it will be coming into law that you can read a book or watch TV in a self driving car. Experiment to go live on a single lane of a motorway. I hope the driver gets to finish the TV programme before something happens. Read more
I suppose the change from concept --> design --> test --> release to market has now changed to minimise the testing phase to make it safe but now outsourcing testing as 'beta testing' to the end user who now has to put up with poor useability ....
I don't believe there is an ideal 'happy medium' in the design of software - if there is, it must be somewhere between deliberately doing it in thought-out steps from simplicity to expanding capability, and rushing out something full of bugs in order to minimise cost. As has been memorably said, no-one knows exactly what they want till they've got one, at which point they begin to think of all kinds of improvements and new features. ...

I have had my fair share of warranty claims in the past and I have never come across this before - effectively, if the warranty is coming to the end of its life and you can't get the car in to the dealer on time (the dealer is fully booked) then tough - you're not covered. ... Read more
Thanks for explaining, learn something new every day :-)
I had a few warranty claims with the Renault (silly electrical gadgets) but the Focus has been faultless.

SAFE ... SAFER? What is this woman talking about? By the time the accidents start happening she (like all politicians making specious statements) will be long gone and forgotten and therefore unaccountable.
