I have had 2 msport s one on a 68 plate the other69 (Dec 19 10kw model).I suffer with a broken spine and I found the M suspension combined with the run flat tyres was too uncomfortable for me.A change to ordinary tyres rectified this. With the 10kw car i was never able to get more than 22 miles of electric driving.Apart from that no probs, pretty quick when needed, the steptronic box is beautiful, never new when changing gear.Awkward to find the SAVE button when driving. Anyway still going to try the new phev when able too Read more
im thinking of getting Aviva online car insurance but can't find out how far back Aviva ask for on claims history. I know direct line ask for three years and other places ask for five, but on their website it says "Our data shows that customers with recent driving convictions and claims, especially in the last four years, are more likely to be involved in an accident or make a claim, and their price will reflect this."
is anyone with Aviva online, or works for them, and can tell me how long they ask for no accidents or claims? Read more
Typically insurers ask for 3-5 years of history. You don't have to provide anything prior to that period.
You can make a SAR [Subject Access Request] to MIB [Motor Insurance Bureau] to see what data they hold about you. Effectively this is what insurers can see about you. ...
I just hope that Kia have listened to owners and replaced the loud, anti-social warning alerts that the Niro produces when reversing. It's like driving a bin lorry and will disturb all your neighbours if you have to reverse the car late at night, never mind getting odd looks in the supermarket car park. Read more
What is the disadvantage of a hybrid car?
'Hybrid cars tend to be more expensive to buy than petrol's and diesels, although the price gap is getting smaller by the year. '
The reason the price gap is getting smaller is because instead of lowering the price of Hybrid and electrical cars, the manufacturers are kidding you by increasing the price of ICE vehicles
Electric vehicles are nearly £20,000 more that a similar ICE vehicle. Hybrid vehicles are nearly £10,000 dearer than a similar ICE model and new ICE models are nearly £5,000 dearer than a few years ago.
Another point you are not being told is that most chargers are not charging at their maximum rate and many are putting time penalties on them usually around 45 minutes before the prolong tariff kicks in which is designed to make you remove your car due to the cost increasing.
Taken from an article regarding charging an electric vehicle in 2021.
''Rapid charging: Rapid charging points are normally found at motorway service stations and typically cost £6.50 for a 30 min, ~90 mile charge. **
* Costs calculated at 17p/kWh based on usable battery is ~54kWh (90%).
** Charging at 50kW, receiving 3.3 miles per kWh. Assumes tariff of 26p/kWh applicable to most Pod Point rapid chargers.'' These prices are now way out of date you can nearly double the price now.
Say you have a 54kwh battery you run it down to 10% you connect up to the charger that is charging at 50kWh if your lucky. In 40 mins that will increase your battery by approximately 35 kWh giving you a total of approx. 40kWh which is approx. 132 miles but in real life and not reaching 0%, 100 miles usable range so you will have to recharge every 100 / 110 miles.

Always worth paying for your insurance on a credit card, as you have some comeback from the card company if the insurer goes bust. You'd be able to file a section 75 claim for the unexpired ratio of the premium.
I have a ford ka+ 2018, owned it for a week and noticed when I’m driving over speed bumps there’s a strange sound from the front left of the car.
I have googled the issue and applied Wd40 specialist silicone spray to the control arm bushes and took it out for a test drive and it’s still the same.
I’m not very knowledgeable about cars and spraying lubricant on the bushes is something I’ve never done before, I’m concerned if I’ve done the right thing? Surely it won’t hurt and help the bushes even if the actual issue isn’t them?
So I still have the noise, is it due to the cold weather ? I mean the car has only done 10k and looks pretty new underneath.
Any help would be great, thanks Read more
This is a common noise on a lot of cars its the antiroll bushes, the bushes need some grease rubbed around their surface then refitting this will stop the noise. Needs to done when the wheels are hanging free not with the load on them. You spraying them with lube will not have done any harm so don't worry.
