The majority of the RV8's were built for the Japanese market. Many have been re-imported back to the UK and I'm considering buying one from someone who has owned it for 17 years. It was re-imported in 2000, he bought the car in 2004 and has an MOT certificate from the previous year, but he doesn't know whether the mileage stated included its time in Japan or just since it was re-imported (the KPH/Km speedo/odometer was replaced with a MPH/miles one). Without much success so far, I'm trying to find out what the odometer reading was at the point of re-import. I'm wondering if anyone knows whether HMRC (or HM Customs & Excise as they were known at the time) would have any shareable documentation showing the reading, or the details of who imported it. I've already contacted DVLA but data protection forbids them sharing any previous owner details with me. They say that as the car was three years old at re-import then it would have needed an MOT (which may well have shown a zero odometer reading) so there should have been two or three MOT's done before the 2003 certificate. I purchased a vehicle check package from CheckCarDetails.co.uk but the MOT history they provided only starts in 2006. Read more

I looked at the Comcar site that came up in that search, all the list prices are there. Looks useful, I might need it another year.

Kia's version the EV6 STARTS from 41 grand. Sorry but that's crazy money. I don't care how fandubbydozey it is. You need to decide what's the max range for minimum cost ,coupled with a vehicle that you can live with. What do you want from your EV? Do you need to pay for 326miles would less suffice? 200 or so? Is tge vehicle big enough for you, family, pushchair and the dog etc.
Go test some alternatives eg Hyundai Kona or VW id4 Skida Enyaq etc. There's a lot of models coming out. Even a used Tesla perhaps? ...
Apparently the revised Highway code will now tell me what to do if i breakdown (on my motorcycle) on a live traffic lane on a smart motorway...well, i think i already knew...start praying for my life especially if i am no where near the ridiculously short and infrequent emergency layby's! Who ever it was that came up with that idea should be made to demonstrate in person ''what to do!'' and see how long they survive. Crazy idea.

While drivers should be encouraged to move to left hand lanes when conditions allow, the driver doing 54 mph in the 60 mph limit probably was showing 60mph or close to that on their speedometer. I know my Jaguar speedo verses sat nav speed reading would show this discrepancy.
I had the misfortune of driving on the M25 between the A12 and M11 recently and was very disappointed to find that despite very light traffic along the whole of this stretch of road, the variable speed went from 60, to 50, to 40, to 50, to 40 etc causing a degree of bunching up and excessive lane changing as drivers accelerated and slowed down, some more than others and engaged drivers in unnecessary focus on their exact speed rather than their speed and surroundings.
The signs suggested queues ahead, but the only queue I encountered was after we passed the M11, at which point, the speed limit was back to 70mph. ...
Hi guys I'm new to the forum so first and foremost hello everyone. I'm having a real issue with my Peugeot I haven't owned so long has a issue that while the engine is cold when I start it after the engine warms a little so the revs drop to a normal rate rather than slighty above 1k
The issue I have is the rev counter bounces up and down slightly however not to the point that it could stall or anything. ... Read more
Any conclusion with this issue? I’m having a similar issue and have tried the same things you have.
Hi, I think one of the rear chock absorbers on my Accord has gone - on aggressive speed bumps, the rear right swings more the the left. On smaller bumbs and at regular driving I do not notice anything. I assume I better change the pair.
I am in Portugal and the prices I find vary a lot, from €33 to €73 a pop. Can I just get the cheaper ones and they will do the job, or how? You can look here: www.mister-auto.pt/amortecedores-traseiros/honda/a.../... Read more

I’m guessing they are referring to the hi pressure diesel pump . So it could be leaking engine oil , diesel fuel or both . Unusual for these to leak . I’ve seen these engines do well over 100k miles with no issue of leaking.
Started to have problem with car after refill but this could be coincedental. The car feels fidgetty when at a steady speed, say 30mph in 3rd gear. No codes showing on VCDS, car starts, idles and accelerates fine. Changed fuel filter and filled canister with Purge and the EGR was cleaned a few months back. Any help/advice appreciated and please request any measurement blocks on VCDS if this will help. I have VCDS but not the knowledge! Read more
New car purchased from Honda last week........
View through rear screen (either via mirror or turning around to look) Is distorted in what I can only describe as a 'shimmering' effect. Happens while on the move or static when head is moved. Road white lining appears broken up & generally the view is poor.... Read more
Conclusion is that screen is probably from a 'bad' batch. Video sent to Honda. I expect to have a new screen fitted. Could be a long wait!
I hope you are successful. It sounds as if it might be called a Design Fault caused by a very flat screen angle, in which case there would need to be a lot of variation between batches to make much difference ?

Solved this when it happened to me. I had one key with no lights and non responsive, so to test the battery I took it from the working key. Then both keys stopped working with no lights or response at all! I then took the Battery from the Mercedes fob it’s a 2032, while it won’t close in the VW fob cover it did make the fob work and doors open close, so I put back in normal VW 2025 battery after and the fob is now working. I did the same for the other fob and it worked as well. It’s as if the 2032 battery gave the fob a new boost of life.
Very odd and probably not recommended but it worked so maybe will help others.
