This is or isnt a driving legal matter and I am not sure whether other members have this situation. Google sent me an email to say that to confirm my address I should send a copy of my passport or a copy of driving licence. They state that as soon as verification has been confirmed they will delete licence details from their records.

My query is:- does this means that DVLA/DVSA have given Google permission to interrogate my details????... Read more

Hi
I was approached by a helpful policeman yesterday who informed me to my surprise that my car wasn’t taxed. After some investigation what seems to happened is that when I bought the car in Jan 2019 and taxed it with the new keepers slip, paying monthly by direct debit, and then it seems the seller didn’t send off his bit, and I didn’t realise I hadn’t received the new V5C. After 12 months the road tax didn’t renew, which I also didn’t realise. So my car has been untaxed since January 2021. So how should I proceed from here, I assume I’m going to be fined for not being taxed?

The DVLA will not have your address to send a reminder which they usually do. Does your direct debit continue in which case what is it taxing? you will now need a forno

Sir Clive has died aged 81. I have many happy memories of the ZX Spectrum. Always thought the C5 looked a bit dangerous but demonstrated what could be done.

I must have donated some £600+ to the Sinclair brand - 3 Sinclair computers over a period of 5/6 years. The 3 boys then went on to gaming machines Sega, Nintendo .... the machines were more expensive and the slot in games even more so. They were infinitely better and almost guaranteed the game would load in a few seconds compared the Sinclair and tape recorder marriage.

It was carrot & stick approach to child rearing - very few arguments with their behaviour / attitude to schoolwork etc etc over the years but mostly carrots, in the form of computers & bikes, handed out for doing well at school.

I would think the first port of call would be a MB/ Smart main dealer . At least it will be secure.

I'd have a very good look under the vehicle before spending money on it, most mk4 Fiestas have rotted away & been scrapped, there becoming a rare sight now.

If the so-called "New" Fiesta is less plastic and Cheese than my partners 2014 version! That would be a good start. The front and rear panels never line up with the wheel arches and the petrol flap just fell off one day!! Not exactly cheap to buy but cheaply built i would say.

Look I am not a perfect driver. I was driving to the co op and it was a small little street. There was cars parked on my right. So I had priority but it was a blind corner. I drove past this bus and everything was normal but I didn’t notice the car coming the other way in my priority. so I had to break quite fast. I must have been doing about 20-25mph. I knew what I was wrong bc I should have been going way slower. But the fact is when I got to the co op and parked up the bus driver beeps his horn at me (scaring me bc I’m autistic) and he opens his doors and shouted at me through the bus. He basically said you was going way to fast. And you should have been going slower, like I didn’t even know what I did was wrong. It totally embarrassed me. Like I said I’m no picture perfect driver. But wow the nerve of that bus driver. I’m just afraid now because I don’t want him to report me. Read more
