Certainly consider it if can fit a wife, two children and dogs with luggage into it. Otherwise it's just a celeb virtue signaller. Read more

I think you'll see A LOT of these around, but they'll be for niche groups - an alternative to mobility scooters, for tourists in cities and seaside towns, they may even change who can drive them and make it like Europe where a learners or light motorcycle license will enable you to drive one. I think the chances of entrepreneurs running them like Boris bikes is very high, you might even be able to use your Oyster card to use one. I don't think the 28mph limit will be an issue around town unless you're stupid enough to pull onto a dual carriageway.. guarantee you only ever do that once!

More needs to be done. It’s the same in private car parks too although I know it’s harder to enforce. McDonald’s blue badge spaces in Glasgow are use by just eat drivers. I’ve complained to both companies but it’s still happening. Read more

Unfortunately if one challenges a culprit parking without a badge, is likely to be abused and possibly assaulted. A sign of the times we live in. It’s the fault weak governments past and present. Shame on the lot.

Coming round the M25 on a 4 lane section between J18 and 20 the other day, and there it was an elderly Merc poodling along on a not very busy bit of road at 55-60 mph in the outer lane.

So we did what every body else did .... Read more

I usually go into the outside lane to overtake the MLHs but am confused as to wether it is legal to undertake them. I've heard it said by MLHs that as they were doing 70 mph anyone going past them is speeding, however the Highway Code I believe states keep left.

Hi everyone,

I currently own a 17 plate Astra with 59k miles. This time last year I was in negative equity because the mileage took the value of the car way down. The silver lining of the crazy used car market at the moment means I'm now in around £1500 equity.... Read more

I’d be more inclined to buy a good family car and a cheap runabout. I wouldn’t want my family in a cheap 7str that could and almost certainly will fail and leave them stranded on or at the side of the road one day. Buy the best you can afford for the sake of safety. The cheap 2nd car is I assume a commuter for work and thus a breakdown is less of a concern.

I'm with them too ORB and I can understand why they get top reviews in Which .
Only hope nothing changes if the buyout to Bain Securities goes ahead.
Nothing much has changed since they were sold to the German Insurance Group who I can't remember the name!

Trilogy.

A friend has instructed me to sell his 2006, five doors, Ford Focus Sport. It has 3 owners from new, FSH with receipts from the last 10 years, and has covered 70,000 miles. It's in very good condition but the aircon isn't very cold. It doesn't have a heated windscreen, colour is a metallic orange/red. Three weeks ago WBAC offered £595, last week that increased to £650. I was thinking of advertising at £950 but am now wondering if I should be asking more?

There might be an argument for pricing it a bit stronger to start with, on the basis that you can always come down in price. Assuming the seller is in no great rush to sell. I have been watching the thread with interest as I have basically the same car but in Zetec trim, similar mileage but slightly newer. Zetec trim gives a few extra goodies such as heated front screen and washer jets.

I think we've more or less covered the OP's query so time to put it to bed.

I'm a tall guy with a disproportionately long back. In my wonderful Yaris, with the seat as low as it will go, my head brushes the ceiling and my eyes are level with the (folded up) sun visor.

I'm looking to trade up now but I don't know what to look at - which cars have the most headroom? Convertibles are out of the question as my head will undoubtedly poke above the windscreen, which can't be safe.... Read more

Putting aside the virtues of not buying new, would you buy a new petrol car now or will it plummet in value even more than usual over the next three years compared with an electric one? Read more

Is there a new car shortage? The Ford dealer where I live has a forecourt full of new Pumas ,Ecosport and others not yet plated

Some cras are and some cars aren't in a shortage...just like in the supermarkets - most food is there but there are some shortages as well. It's not a black and white issue.
