Evening, has anyone any experience of buying a new car at least a hundred miles away?
l am wondering if l would have to return to selling dealer if l have any problems, especially under warranty,my local dealers are advertising cars as in stock but when l enquire this is not the case so am looking further afield. I would be grateful for any and all advice, Thank you
I dont know how much it cost to produce Ethanol, but if it is cheaper than petroleum then surely the price of fuel should come down! Also as Ethanol is made from corn, farmers in some parts of the world will be cutting down rain forests so that they can plant more corrn to satisfy the demand from the oil companies. How to save the planet! First tankfull of E10 in Mrs's BJ's Fiat Panda 1.2 - thus far no real difference in performance or economy
Hi,
I'm looking to buy a car for my wife as her previous one developed some faults and had to be sold as Spare or Repair. So found this really old reg car but wonderful MOT History, seller seems genuine too ... well she just got the car's MOT done and messaged me that it passed straight away, I was glad but just checked the MOT and saw this advisory that I've never seen before, wanted to know if it's something I should be concerned about (something that can fail MOT in future etc) or if it's a cheap fix ... need some advice ... following is the advisory,... Back to work this morning after a nice fortnight off, and I was immediately reminded of a minor annoyance as I come home on the motorway (M5 Junction 2 - M6 Junction 7). I only really use this route when its off peak as it can get very busy, but at quiet times I can get from my parish church in Rowley Regis home to Great Barr in 20 minutes.
However, what is annoying is the traffic joining the M5 at junction 2 often drives up the slip road at only 30mph, which often means traffic that wants to go at motorway speed has to risk overtaking and going into the 2nd or even 3rd land almost immediately- which I don't like doing. But the alternative seems to be sitting in the inside lane at 30-40 while all the trucks fly by at 60. ... Read more
cutting across from a fast lane to reach an exit, just before it gets too late ?
There's no such thing as a 'fast lane'. If you think there is, I suggest you read the Highway Code!...
By the time the semi- conductor mess is sorted it it won't be worth buying a new ICE car anyway due to the (forced) switch to electric Read more
I have no doubt thatthis semi conductor shortage is being used as an excuse to create an artificial market of high demand, high car prices and great profits!
Most manufacturers are reporting lower car deliveries with higher profits as manufacturers are prioritisong higher specification models which enivitable result in higher ticket prices. Because of the aforementioned manufacturers are in no rush to see an end to the so called semi conductor shortage as profits for them have never been so good!
Embarrassingly After 6 years of driving my 2008 v70 I found a control button behind the wiper stalk. A little 4 way button reachable with the r hand behind the wiper stalk. No mention of it in the on line manual…anyone any idea? Read more
It doesn’t seem like an aftermarket fit as it perfectly incorporated. It goes up, down and L and R. I’ve tried it but nothing happens and sadly no ejector seat operates either.

If it is going to be used for business, either full time or part time, then there will be taxation implications. You may be able to offset some of the costs against tax. You need to talk to an accountant about the best way to finance the purchase.

Hey,
Did you find any solution?
Hi All
My wife's fiesta passenger door window is playing up, it sometimes goes up and down a few times when you try to put the window down and stays down and cant put it up , it does the same on the door controls and using the drivers controls. It usually cures itself if we stop and turn the engine off then back on. its a few months out of warranty so I can try to fix it or a car electrician but I would like to try first.... Read more

Yes, but clean out any crud first.
I popped into Halfords, and they offered custom made car mats.

I have some I cut from what I think may be old conveyor belting, plus some trays on top.
The belt-based ones have come in handy as traction aids when bogged down in loose beach sand a couple of times.

Absolutely the right thing to do.
However they may be unconcerned - given the current shortage of stock they may simply sell it to someone else less assertive than yourself.
