Hello folks

The wife has a2006 Citroen C2 1.1 petrol and for a while it has I've thought it a bit underpowered on the odd occaision I've driven it. I thought it might just be the contrast with my own car. On a couple of longer journeys recently the "stop, engine overheat" light has come on. It normally does about 10 miles a day and doesn't show then.... Read more

stop, engine overheat" light. This could be related to low coolant or an electric cooling fan problem.I would run the engine up to hot and check if the fan cuts in.Really can't see any connection between power and trip miles. What did the main odometer read?

WELL! What a plonker, top tip here, put your specs on... I thought it said 36 miles, but it was reading an entirely accurate 3.6 miles... doh! Have reset the ECU, had it out for a spin to do the re learning thing, and seems to be OK. Still feels underpowered, but running fine. Maybe I'm just too used to 160BHP...

Somehow I've managed to discover an Australian motoring 'expert', John Cadogan, on youtube, who has quite a lot - sometimes Aussie not quite politically correct - of opinions, of cars and the brands.

Recently, as part of my midlife crisis, in considering a soft top, I looked at Mustang (not bought yet, but will probably be Audi A5), his regarss and detailing crash testing, makes potentially worrying reading, should you own one and ever have a nasty bump in it.... Read more

Dear Lord, 5 minutes of Mr Wombat was more than enough and 5 mins if my life i can't get back, shan't be watching any more of him.

Shock horror Ford didn't fit lane assist or automatic emergency braking, well that's two plus points in the cars favour far as i'm concerned, why on earth would anyone buy a car like a Mustang unless they had some confidence in their abilities to drive the thing, if someone want a nanny knows best shopping trolley come family transport cloned eurobox there are plenty to choose from, Mustang was never intended to compete with such and i hope it never is....

I had a similar problem. Whole series of misfies while on the road. 1st gear all the way to the nearest garage with every light flashing on the dashboard. New coil pack, new spark plug leads, new spark plugs. Damaged coil pack due to leaking back seals of windscreen washers underneath the bonnet. That was found after the new coil pack also got damaged.

Looking at used cars at present and how to check the history, I came across the Government website that shows you the MOT history with the reasons for fail and advisory notes. It also shows the mileage and date.

Fat fingered Mot tester 9/3/2014 has put a 9 instead of an 8. Likely should read 88,860. Does happen so it pays to check your Mot printout when you get it.

Apologies if this has been asked before but cars today and from many years back all seem to have some type of insulation jacket on their 12v batteries under the bonnet.
Why is this ?
Is it to keep it warm, insulate it from the engine bay heat or a bit of both and just maintain it at a constant temp ?

Hi,
A fault with the normally reliable c30. It started but no electrical power, lights, indicators not working. Driven back home, then started it again with same key and all appears okay.
Do I have a faulty ignition lock or failing relay somewhere? Car battery is original 8.5 yrs old.
Thanks in advance for any help.

Hi skidpan,

I have been driving for 30 years and never had to deal with this warning light before. I thought putting oil in would solve the problem. Now I know that is not the case.
