I wonder if anyone with trade experience can help me. I have long been in love with American muscle cars but only as an enthusiast.

As a result of my day job, I've come to meet someone who is in the auto sales business in the US. Long story short, I'm doing homework on whether there is decent money to be made in sourcing muscle cars from the US, getting them IVAd and selling them on in the UK or in Europe. ... Read more

Vans or Stangs, any import is going to cost more with recent devaluation of the £. As others have said now the Mustang is available as official RHD version why would you import recent LHD. Even post April tax rules work in its favour if you're planning on keeping for a few years.

I have read that all cars registered after 2014 have tyre pressure sensors.

I have also read that these sensors have a life expectancy of 5 - 7 years due to the internal battery not being replaceable. ... Read more

The Aygo has the rotational type of TPMS - the C1 and 108 will be the same.

Brilliant! Thanks for that. I shall now check any future purchases come with this type of TPMS in addition to a space for a full size spare wheel....

Need the help of fellow backroomers. I am a long time lurker but infrequent poster.

Four years ago I moved to a rural spot and my property is located at the end of a half mile long rough farm track covered periodically with used road plannings. When we moved I replaced my then car with a Hyundai ix35 4wd 2.0 diesel which is now coming up 6 years old. I bought the Hyundai as I did not know what winter weather would bring and wanted to have one 4wd car in the household with raised ground clearance to assist in getting down the track in tricky conditions.... That brings back memories. I loved Suzuki Vitaras back in the 90's when I was selling for a big Mitsubishi dealership. Our buyer would grab every one he could lay his hands on, condition rarely mattered as they were straightforward to fix.

The real joy was purely profit related as they sold like hot cakes, always to punters upgrading from a small to medium hatchback who were then horrified by the awful handling, ride and fuel economy compared to their run of the mill hatchbacks. Big percentage of them were back within months looking to buy something else so it was a double whammy for us. Thus the reason why so many MK I Vitaras had a suspiciously high number of registered keepers. They were pretty tough things but b***** awful to drive.

Nothing like the current car of course which seems to be well received by owners and press. Not sure I'd touch the Fiat diesel option though.

At present I have a BT package for B/band, Calls and BT Vision which includes BT Sport. Everything we watch through the BT box is usually online although the rooftop ariel is connected to the BT box. We have just bought a new LED TV which is a smart TV. We have one daughter at home who also has a smart TV, which she watches purely online through the WiFi. The smart TV's give us most of the BT channels anyway so we are duplicating. We are noticing that if we watch Catchup TV, Now or Netflix the programmes regularly start to buffer, which interupts the viewing. We have download speeds of about 40mbs which is pretty good, and certainly good enough for us all to watch TV online, so why the buffering? This happens on our daughters' TV too. Could the router not be capable enough of putting out a sfficiently strong signal? In all honesty I am thinking of dumping the BT package and just watching normal channels, Freeview, Now and Netflix. The only problem is recording. I like to record certain things and then I can fast forward the adverts or through the usual dross from presenters. How can I do this without a box of some sort? If there is anyone out there who has a goos knowledge of this I would welcome some guidance.

You need to reconnect the sky box to the satellite dish rather than the aerial even just to receive freeview channels on a box with expired sky subscription

Funny I thought I`d said that, both cables from dish for recording purposes

Heyes

For years my son has claimed the performance and fuel economy of his 05 Ka significantly worsens when the level in the coolant reservoir drops below the minimum (even though it's not empty).

Although not pretending to be smart enough to understand this, I can't see any reason why this should be... yes, I can see how performance and fuel economy can vary for a variety of reasons (including faulty sensors/electronics), but not related to the level in the coolant reservoir.

Am I just stupid?
Is he mistaken?
Maybe it's a ploy by Ford/oil companies/whomever.
Are there dark forces of the supernatural at play here?

Suggestions appreciated.
Please and thanks. Read more

Don't understand the "rattly" comment.

Just looked at Wiki and it appears the OHV Endura was used in the KA until 2002. The courtesy cars we had covered the years 2003, 4 and 5 so its possible that they were earlier KA's fitted with the OHV engine and not the later OHC unit....

Congrats, if its half as good as the daughters 2 x 2 litre Civics of similar model years have been, then you'll probably become a confirmed Honda enthusiast too.

Thanks for updating the thread, do let us know from time to time how its going if you would please, and best of luck with the forthcoming house purchase....

My memory is a bit hazy but I recall that the 1.9 PD motors with the 6-speed gearboxes were rated with a slightly higher torque output in VW's own figures: 228lb-ft compared to 210lb-ft for the 5-speed gearbox variants, although peak power was identical between the two.
