My main headlights are not working, but the bulbs are working as can put on full beam and can flash people, any advice? Could it be a fuse? Read more

Could be the bulbs if it uses dual filament bulbs such as the H4's. Maybe both dipped beam filaments are blown.

Hi

I recently bought a second hand car and the dealer insisted in removing the original plates and putting on plates with his garage name and address. When I queried this is said "It was a legal requirement"... Read more

If you keep a car long enough for it to be of interest as a modern classic (and then beyond) the original plates being fitted, especially if they were quality items and show a now long gone dealership, and weren't just printed out with a postcode, as so many are now, are desirable.

A used car's dealer's modern plates are of no interest to old car buyers....

This looks like a really attractive car. The hatch makes it much more useful compared to the Passat and the Mazda 6.....both of which are 3 box saloons. Visually it is very attractive and fresh looking. The whole package seems to tick all the boxes. I'm sure it will be a winner for GM.....or should I say Peugeot these days.

I was plagued on my business number by scam artists so much so I was almost ready to do away with the phone altogether.

Personal favourite was the Police Handbook. Caller would tell you they're from the local Police press dept and that your business had been "specially selected" for an advert in the Police Handbook delivered to all officers in the region. Cost was usually around £300 or so but clearly sounded strange so quick online search revealed it as a very well known scam and in no way related to the Police.

Even had the cheek to send me an invoice and threatening follow up demand despite telling them politely no thanks. Naive lady who run a Jewlers next door sadly fell for it, among many other scams over the years before she wised up.

The last few trips over the last 20 years, I arranged my car hire in Canada via a UK company. Which included LDW, RAP and Returning on a empty tank. But the last I used has since stop trading.

When searching various Canadian car rental sites at Calgary airport, theres such a variation in prices in trying to get the same protections as above.... Read more

Coming home from the USA for 2 months in 2015 my son decided, against my advice, to book anywhere but the airport - although he did buy a hire car CDW for £40 /year.

He booked online from the USA for a Hertz car for 8 weeks - when he got home "the extras" exceeded the basic rental. He took the car & returned it after a few days & booked locally....
