I'll let the experts argue the case for the Heathrow runway 3 itself--but when it is eventually fully operational( answer please ?)--I trust the new Heathrow will have first class access roads to all terminals, with easy drop off /parking and a dynamic public transport interchange that allows fast -and cheap-entry and exit from not only the centre of london --but also from the north, the south, the east and the west?
And while we are at it--why not build a rail ringroad with strategic stations all around the M25 perimiter? Read more

There are at least two radio ads at the moment that have completely put me off any thoughts of buying the featured cars due to the wording in the ad. One is for the Jaguar XE and the other for the Audi A4. The ads make a big thing about the low monthly payments and then the very last words at the end of the rushed terms and conditions is "Business users only". Now, I know what sort of monthly payments the normal man in the street would be making for these cars so know this is a business rate. However, many people would be fooled into thinking this was the private monthly rate. In addition, it also smacks of "we only sell these to Business people". Hence neither of these, or any other manufacturer that does the same thing, will appear on my shopping list. Read more
I remember a magazine advert for the Princess back in the late 70s which concentrated on the free inclusion of "Supercover"; an inset photo helpfully showed a broken down Princess with the bonnet up waiting for the (free of charge!) AA recovery van. The marketing team just didn't get it, did they?
So I've seen a 5 year old 5008 for under £8k and 54k miles but it has no accompanying service history. It's had a dent to the rear passenger door that the garage is sorting. MOT Hostory checks out ok. Should I be worried at the no service history? Read more
AFAIK it doesn't, but uses the TF80 (or AM6 in PSA speak) 6-speed torque convertor box. Used in loads of cars - Fords, Vauxhalls, Saab, Volvo etc.
The basic engine/drivetrain is pretty much the same as you'll find in endless PSA models, Ford Mondeo & Focus, Volvo V50/S40/V70/S80 and others of various years so is a known quantity....

If you're reasonably good at judging character, for a 5 year old plus car a private seller is often a better bet.
Sums it all up nicely, if it quacks and waddles its probably a duck andf this applies to private and at least one man band traders, a few minutes spent with a buyer or seller generally talking about stuff is time well spent....
Hi, after reading some other messages in the forum I to have the same problem. I tried following the steps of holding down buttons 1 and 6 to access my radio code for my ford transit 6000CD player. Upon my findings here are the numbers that I found, FB050208, SWP14C044, BL020405, FDV2007, VO25557 and SWP1-6CIT. Seat belt dash warning with chimes coming on intermittently when the driver is wearing the seat belt securely and in the correct buckle housing.
I have had a look under the seat and can see no cable fraying or loose wires. There is a black block at the offside front of the seat cushion which the pre tensioner cable terminates in, along with another smaller cable. This runs from the buckle area, under the seat to this block.
It looks like a relay. Could this be the culprit? Or is it more to do with the buckle housing?
Thanks in anticipation for any replies. Read more
Theres no problem clicking into place, it appears to be a sensor inside that's gone rogue.
Got my insurance renewal the other day and I couldn't believe it it went up by £1100. I was paying £500 last year. When I queried it with them they said that insurance premium tax had risen but there had also been a lot of claims in the last 6 months.
I've been to different brokers and comparison website where I've been able to find cheaper quotes but nothing cheaper or even close to the price I was paying last year. ... Read more
What a con, they expected us to just renew and take the increase.
That has been standard practice for a long time AFAIK. Occasionally it gets newspaper space when elderly folk (like me) notice what is happening and grumble....

Did you buy this car privately or from a dealer? If a dealer, you should have some comeback under the Consumer Rights Act.
"....we paid £900 £167 on a service" - ??? ...can't really advise you about ging back to whoever did the service without knowing what that means. If you only paid £900 for the car, sell it for what you can get and buy a petrol-powered car, preferably Japanese such as a Toyota Verso.
