One of many reasons why I've never had a Vauxhall is that you sit quite low in them, and being short I like a higher driving position. So as Olirag says, try a Zafira for size, or paerhaps a Toyota Verso if the Honda FRV is hard to find.

The FRV never sold well in the UK - 3 + 3 has never been popular - so there aren't many used ones to choose from.

We are having a persistent electrical problem.Because it constantly would not hold a charge for any length of time we had assumed it was in need of a new battery.Went off to Halfords for a replacement who after testing it said there was nothing wrong with it and suspected that it was draining by something unseen ie boot lights, door lights, etc etc.I had previosly checked and eliminated those. Then it would not re-start so Halfords staff tried jumping it with an industrial boost charger to no avail - they then bump started me to get home and we took it to our local garage who look after our cars. And they have tried everything over a period of weeks to get to the bottom of the problem - including a visit from a specialist auto electrician.Radio (they are known to be a problem), alarm, door locks have been in turn all eleminated. My charger whilst 4 yrs old has hardly been used and is now failing to charge it ,so, at the weekend i borrowed an old but serviceable unit and after 4hours the car started OK.I put it back on charge Sunday (thinking that the start would have taken the best of it) and now Monday lunchtime it will not start!!!!Help or ideas would be useful - i am beginning to think that although quite new it really is the battery.During charging/attempting to charge i have disconnected the battery from the car electrical circuits. Lidl do some really neat little automatic chargers that can be left connected to a battery permanently to maintain it's charge.

I would like to buy an audi quattro 3.0L diesel automatic. I like the a5 and a7. Pros and cons of both? Please help make my decision! Read more

I'd have thought it was mostly a matter of size, the A5 of course being smaller. It should be more lively than an A7 with the same engine. So decide on the size of car you want and go from there. The A5 can come with two or four side doors, as well as a cabriolet.

With most Audis (I can't swear to the A5 and A7) the automatic gearbox fitted to the 3-litre diesels (CVT) will lasty better than the one in the 2-litres (DSG).

Hi guys, Im looking for a replacement clutch, dmf and bearing kit and have been told to only buy LUK, Valeo or Sachs. But I've heard there are cheap crap out there boxed as LUK when they are not. So how do I know if I'm getting the genuine product? Obviously some of these cheap deals on fleebay look a bit suspect... Read more

Basically they found the crank sensor bracket snapped and the crank sensor just floating about. Its been hitting the flywheel. So to replace the bracket for the crank sensor its a gearbox off job. Also the dmf flywheel does knock quite abit on shut off and the the van judders in reverse, possible clutch on its way out. So I've read alot about poor clutches and dmf problems so decided whilst the box is off to do the lot.

Hi,
I'm a newbie ere and would be grateful of ur advise the anti pollution light is comin on our car and it keeps cutting out its a 2008 I am aware of this warning light comin on cos of a dpf fault or lack of additive, but after checking I found that there was no dpf fitted or any elloyd (additive) tank/bag fitted I think it's called that anyway. We AV ad this car for bout 4 year now and not ad any problems like this in the past, I gave it a full engine service and the problem seemed to go away fa maybe 3 days and then today at possibly the worst place ever (big roundabout just off motorway) boom the problem was back it started juddering and cut out again and the message was back and mil light was on Managed to get home but took ages cos kept going into limp mode and juddering and cutting out then it'd clear and could get abit further. As anyone else come across this problem or no how I could cure it any suggestions would be greatly appreciated many thanks. James Read more

I had a Peugeot 307 Hdi with the anti pollution fault I also changed the fuel filter and it didn't cure it until i look at the dip stick for the oil and my oil level was low so put some more oil in the sub and the anti pollution disappeared

Please help.

I purchased a new Peugeot 2008 1.2 130 (petrol engine) this year and after around 1000 miles it started to hesitate between 1750 rpm and 2250 rpm when accelerating with throttle foot pressed down at least 1/2 way. Either side of 1750 to 2250 rpm there is no hesitation. I've used Shell V-power petrol since new.

I took it to the Peugeot garage and was told is needed a decoke.

How is this possible with such a new car and engine and when using Shell V-power ?

Has anyone else encountered this problem before and if so what action was taken to rectify it ?

Thanks.

Yes, but there shouldn't be any spiders after only 1,000 miles!

I've seen an i20 with very low mileage, like 2k in 3 years, but the 1st service was not done, but the second was done, according to the selling dealer as it had such low mileage, the Hyundai dealer said 1st service not required, at the time it had 700 miles on the clock,

I bought my very low mileage 13 plate BMW 116d EfficiencyDynamics 6 weeks ago and generally love it, however I am more than a little bit peeeeved about the heavy fuel consumption!

For many a long year I have owned diesel engined cars and I have always managed to achieve quite exceptional brim to brim fuel consumption figures, for instance my last car was a Peugeot 307SW 1.6 HDi and I was regularly getting a corrected 60+ mpg.... Read more

My non-turbo expert van needs some oil but I have conflicting reports of what oil I need, some saying synthetic and some not! My three questions I have are what is the correct grade of oil to use, is it fully/semi/ non synthetic and can I safely mix two types of oil as obviously I don't know what has been used previously.
