Yes certainly they're better than previous generations but technology moves on and the latest will always be better plus the likelihood of a decade old airbag firing properly at the correct pressure is low. Ncap scores also change becoming more difficult and a car that scored 5 stars ten years ago would more likely score 2 or even 1 if tested today.

I have recently received NIP for speed driving at 52mph under 40mph restriction on motorway. I have been asked to pay £100 fine and also been offered for DAS. I have got non EU driving licence, and my driving test is been booked for 10/11, can I just pay the fine and send them the copy of my non EU licence or would I be asked for any other document after that. The only thing is I just came to know after I received the NIP when I checked on internet that Person with non EU licence can drive only for first 12 months. Is there chances that I could be prosecuted, prisoned or banned from driving for this or amount of fine be increased, Or is there a chance that once I pay fine and send them copy of my licence that won't be asked for my arrival date in U.K. Really getting panic attack since got NIP please do advise. Further to my post a few weeks ago about what I believed was a noisy fuel pump, I started noticing a smell of petrol in the car when I got in after leaving it overnight. I keep an empty petrol can in the boot for emergency topups, and thinking that maybe this was the source of the niff I removed it and put it in the shed. Sure enough, the smell went away. ... Hi ive got a vectra c 1.9 cdti today i decided to change the washer/seal on one of my injectors because it was spiting out crap so in the proced of doing this i had to take the top of my injector to get it out and lost the tiny little spring i managedcto do what i was doing but now theres no tiny spring in the top ..... My question is can i get a spring from another injector possibly a knackerd one or would i have to fit another injector and also are these injectors timed ive been told you have to get them timed up to the engine ?? Sorted i got another injector to replace mine only the new injector was spitting diesel out from around the injector so i used yhe speing to fix mine andcits all running fine again ...note to self dont lose springs lol...And ive also found out you dont need to code the injectors on the vectra 1.9cdti ...glyn.

Has anyone used the new online system to transfer you private plate onto retention? Is it quicker that filling out and sending off the endless paperwork? I'm thinking of selling my car and want to get it back on the original plate asap

In one case, it was virtually instant - he had the new reference numbers there and then, and the new V5 2 days later.
The other case it took 4-5 days....
