My daughter's currently looking at second hand cars. I'm expecting a call to go and look over any she fancies.
Does anyone know of a website that will tell me what warning lights are illuminated at ignition on as a 'bulb check' for different models please?... Read more

Right something that's driving me mad. A14 at present has a 40 mph speed restriction in certain areas, in rush hour traffic in this area is crawling at 20 mph tops. Due to the congestion cars go down slip road stop half way down and then indicate to join causing a queue behind. In order to use the slip road correctly, I undertake all queued cars use the full length of the slip road and merge in to the traffic at the end of slip road. Just seems logical to me, am I in the wrong? To me I am the only one using the slip road correctly, despite undertaking those not using it correctly. I guess the only issue I would have is if someone would pull out to the left to do the same thing?? Read more
The length of the slip lane merge is intended to allow joining traffic time to accelerate or decelerate to match the mainstream speed and then merge. The fact that it doesn't work when the mainstream is virtually at a standstill is why some slip roads have traffic lights and only allow one or two cars through at a time.
Hi I wonder if you can help me with a problem. I have a push button switch fitted adjacent to the 12v outlet in the centre of the car console. A red light comes on only when the ignition is on the ignition can be switched off but the light stays on it only goes off when the car door is opened. it does not seem to do anything with in the car and its causing me concern The switch was fitted when I purchased the car Read more

Ford SportKA SE 1.6 (2004) temperature light keeps coming on and off. It's not overheating or leaking any more...
Initial problem - Coolant leak (visit 1 to the garage): £206 including labour.
Housing Unit was replaced to fix a leak. This has stopped that issue.
Secondary problem - Overheating:
4 days later the temperature light came on after driving 2 hours and LOTS of steam came out. Overheated and the coolant had bubbled over. Let it cool down and got a recovery company to get us back home the next day. Before doing so, he looked at it for 20 minutes. Heat was blowing into the car, radiator was getting hot, fan was on instantly as soon as it was switched on from cold, pipes were getting hot. Bubbles were coming out from the expansion tank with the cap off, so it had air inside. After a few moments, the fan was working normally. Not on from the get go, but came on when it started to get hot. So everything seemed normal to start with. After 20 minutes the fan wasn't blowing very hot and the recovery guy said he'd not risk it and take us back home.

Sounds to me you still have coolant loss or air lock. The engine may have been cooked from the first episode. You need to get a chemical test of the coolant to establish possible head gasket problem.Don't think a diagnostic test will show anything.Back to basics for this problem. The valve that was replaced, was it the heater valve?and if it was ,can you confirm that a genuine Ford part was fitted,as an aftermarket part can cause overheating issues.

Firstly sorry if this is the wrong place to ask.
I have since new a 2013 Twingo since new it cut out for no apparent reason and periodically would not start. AA would disconnect battery reconnect and it would start. Advice given was to take to dealers which it was and never any fault found.
Last week did the same and dealer states"it's a known issue which is not repairable you need to speak to Renault" spoke to Renault who said yes we have no leg to stand on we will replace with a brand new 2016 free of charge.I was amazzes that they stated this but none the less its a recorded conversation
Today they say your car is now only worth £2000 because of this fault and we need you to pay £9500 to get you a replacement car! I'm a little bit slow but not an idiot, honest! Its still under manufacturers warrenty more than a year to go its done 39k.
Question is does anyone know of this issue, a car still under warranty that can not br repaired for a known issue that was aparently a known issue prior to me being sold it?

Thanks to all who have responded.
My daughter was allowed to read the IT225 tech fault as in earlier post but did not understand, and the dealer would not give her a cop si I was hoping someone would have access to it, which may make it a bit clearer.
From what she understood there was no new/updated part available she asked why there is no recall for the cars, not had a satisfactory answer.
None the less I'm not going to let Renault off the hook, I'm guessing the issue is more the cost effectiveness of replacing the part, as I said previously disconnecting then reconnecting the Battery seems to "reset" the car.
I vert much appreciate your thoughts.
I've recently bought this same battery for my Golf, it was delivered quickly and the price was good...www.tayna.co.uk/Type-096-Varta-Silver-Dynamic-Car-...l
