Hello all newbie
Had this problem in my van for a while now with no success of getting it repaired
The vibration only comes on when I'm driving at about 70 mph in 6th gear
It's dosent do it all the time either the first time it done it went into limp mode
I have had a full diagnostic scan showed unknown fault po400 and brake light switch
Had it on the ramp driven at 70mph checking driveshalfs bearing etc
all ok
Had wheels balanced
Egr value been removed and cleaned and maf sensor
It seems to come on when 6th gear is selected but at the bottom of its range
and increasing speed to 70mph ?
It's a semi auto box
Would a clog injector or faulty egr value cause this
Any ideas appreciated

Hi All,
My partner has a 2009 i30 ES. It is a UK model. The rear wiper has stopped working, so I have carried out some basic checks:... Read more
Had the same problem on a seat ibitza. While your i30 is relaivly new, the seat was from 2001 i think. Most common problems on the rear wipers is that the cleaning solution gets into the motor asemblei and by time rust forms and the gears seize. You should have a look inside the casing before you decide to take a new part from the shop.
Hi All, I hope you can help me. I broke down on the motorway with an overheated car recently, which turned out to be the degas hose, having split in half and poured out all the coolant. I found out the next day it was a recalled part, for which we have never recieved a letter.
Our local ford garage (whose aftercare is APPALLING), changed the hose, but since the car has run badly and is still leaking the coolant. They appear to have literally changed the hose, and not looked at any issues the breakdown could have caused as a result.... Read more
we bought the car in December 2014 from the local Ford dealer, and have had no notification at all untill the inevitable breakdown 13 months later. If this garage sold it to us with an outstanding recall we need to take it up with them, as it seems there has been damage to the car as a result. We have definitely not recieved a recall letter, which was brushed aside by the dealer as the DVLA's fault.
Help Please!! ...
What are the thoughts on this forum, regarding the reliability of modern GDI engines.
I understand that there used to be a whole lot of reliability concerns around them, particulalrly around carbon build up on valves.... Read more
For what it's worth as a contribution to the general question about GDI, I have a 6 years old Toyota Auris 1.2T, which uses direct injection. It has done 59,000 miles and I have owned it for the past 48,000 miles. I have always used Shell V-Power petrol and it has given no problems so far. Burns no oil, performs as well as when I got it (including pulling from low revs if I am cruel to it), and returns mid-50s mpg on the motorway in summer.

I'm recently have trouble starting my van in the mornings? I took it to a mechanic and have had new glow plugs, some thing which tells the plugs to turn on/EGR valve,
No problem with the fuel pump but every morning it just turns over and will not start as soon as I put a tiny squirt of easy start in it fires up straight away and starts all day but the following day the same thing will happen, this has happened for a few weeks now
Any ideas
Thank u Read more
With any modern common rail diesel engine, correct fuel pressure is critical.Has your mechanic done any tests on the fuel system with actual values rather than fault codes.?Have the injectors been tested for excess leak off?
Hi all, I have a Renault megane 1.5dci 55 plate. Looking for some help so i dont get mugged of at the garage. The problem is the battery light is on when i start the car and sometimes have trouble getting it to start. Even after a long drive when i next start the car the battery light is once again lit up. I have had the battery tested and its fine, ( new battery last year) I had a gadget put onto battery and it says charging ok but not at maximum capacity. Would it be the alternator, Sorry female here and dont know much about cars.
Any help appreciated... Read more
The charging lamp permanently on means you have a fault with the charging system, but the alternator is a complex component and many things can be wrong with it. Because of this it doesn't necessarily mean it's not charging, because it very much depends what's wrong with it, but you almost certainly need a new one. Similarly it doesn't necessarily mean it is charging if the lamp does work properly.
For a girlie explanation dashboard warning lamps are colour coded for easy identification.
An orange warning lamp means you have a fault which requires attention at the earliest convenience.
A red warning lamp means you have a fault which requires immediate attention.
If you ignore a red warning lamp and continue to drive regardless then make sure you have vehicle breakdown cover because you will need it.
Car is a 2013 Mk2 Alhambra (7N). Just put two new tyres on the rear, swapped the old rear tyres to the front - but discovered the inner edge is excessively worn, 2-3mm on both tyres. So one tyre has been on for about 20K and is barely legal, the other has only been on for 10-11K and is on the way out.
I don't straddle speedbumps. ... Read more
Hi all and thanks for this thread. My seat Alhambra 2001 135000 miles failed it's MOT on a tyre work through to cloth on the inside edge in near side rear. The hunter alignment places nearby were all owned by crash repair centres so asking local garages they ask recommended a local place near lancaster who replaced their alignment rig 6 months ago with a super tracker rig.
NSF +1.9 to +0.6 & -0.89* to -0.80*, NSR -0.60 to +0.60 & -1.59* to -1.61*, OSF +0.90 to +0.70 & -1.02* to -1.06*, OSR -2.40 to +0.70 & -1.84* to -1.61*.
New tyre on so hopefully all will be well from now on.
I have a 2007 Scenic Hatchback. I have just had a new Electronic Park brake module installed now I am getting the errors "Check ABS" "Check ESP" The errors happen randomly. When I turn off the engine the Errors go away.
I had the car Diagnosed by Renault here in Perth, Western Australia and no errors come up.
I purchased the Renault iCarsoft i907 and I am getting the error: DF188 ABS - brake switch circuit incoherent. Can anybody suggest where I should start to solve this proplem? Many thanks in advance. Read more
Brake switch signal incoherent means its not understanding a feed back signal.
Sometimes the brake light switch need resetting. I normally remove the switch and pull the ratchet out and re-insert the switch and allow it to reset. can be usefull to use a feeler gauge and allow about a 1mm gap between pedal and switch....
I have a Peugeot 3008 1.6 HDi "Sport" (laughable really how they can call it that) and I've owned it for 18 months. The brake pads, at least in the front, badly need changing. It's a job I usually do myself, but someone told me that I won't be able to change the brake pads front and rear myself as the computer needs to be reset. Aparently this is due to the electronic handbrake that comes with the car.
Is this true? And if it is, does this mean it's a dealership job or could another mechanic with some sort of diagnostic device replace the brake pads? Read more
The front brakes are no different to a normal set-up,so no problem .The rears may need to be set into service mode, which may need the use of suitable diagnostic equipt, but not specifically main dealer.
I.m suspecting the same thing. Most likely the flywheel faild and needs replacing
