Given the amount of faff it introduces into car hire I'm a bit dubious about extent to which 'red tape' is really being reduced.
Looks like one of those ideas that came out of a staff brainstorm.

Fantastic, yes please. By the way, I've just had a car accident, and might have whip lash, could you help me claim? Oh, and I was mis-sold some insurance, I don't suppose you could sort that out for me too?
One last request, and I hope you don't think I am a bit demanding. If you have a contact with a Nigeran government minister who wants me to help transfer some money, I'll do my best. Just asking, since you seem so understanding and obliging. Thanks ever so.
Good to see a new model smaller instead of larger than the one it replaces, and with better visibility.

I am looking forward to the new XF. I have a 2010 one that is just fine, so if I wait another 3 years I will be able to pick up a 3yr old new shape one hopefully....

we have just had our first service at 4000 miles, when we drove home and checked the dealers sheets, everthing looked perfect! and i noticed they had checked the tyre pressures.
whilst walking around the car i glanced at the front tyre, and on closer inspection found to my horror, age cracks in the grooves of the rubber, i then checked the other tyres, which had the same cracking!!, not noticed by the dealer i might add!.... Read more
Does still happen. Had what they call "microcracking" on a set of Michelins a couple of years ago on the sidewalls and between the tread blocks. Spoke to Michelin who confirmed they were garanteed for 6 years from the date of manufacture (its moulded into the sidewall). They inspected them and I got about £200 towards a new set. Not bad after 3 years. Just to add it passeed an MOT with them on about 2 weeks before I spotted them and the tester did not even comment about the cracks.
Tyres are garanteed by the tyre maker and not Ford (or any vehicle manufactuer for that matter). Suggest you speak to Conti and they will direct you to their nearest "official" retailer. used to be National Tyres. I had Contis replaced back in the 80's FOC with the same problem as your have.
VW Golf (2001) suffered several minor problems - all seem to relate to fuses or electrical problems. Cigarette lighter not working. On youtube it seems 95% of problems relate to simple fuse change & cleaning of connectors. I need this to charge phone / use sat-nav, etc. Any trouble shooting suggestions? Tried cleaning connections, checked fuse, not blown, all connectors seem sound.
Also, all fuses seem mucked up - the rear wipe won't work, if I change the cigarette one, it sets the front wipers haywire, squirting cleaner fluid & keeping wiper blades moving! Is there a simple, CHEAP way I can look at fixing this myself? Or do I have to take it to mechanic - and is any of it dangerous to fix myself? Read more
You need to check that the correct fuses are in the correct locations.Unfortunately it is not easy on these as the fuse card/map plan is for a left drive car ,so the references are mirror image. If you are not at all sure, take it to a garage /mechanic.
