I noticed steering wheel wobble that started to snatch to the left when slowing down. was a bit scary so took it to nearest garage asking them to check for me - they seemed a bit uncertain what it might be, (possibly uneven tyres etc) but agreed to check it over. I was told after inspection that it needed new brake pads and discs and a new track rod end which was loose ... it was probably the play in this causing the problem. With a new tyre, new track rod end and pair of brakes costing £400 I set off, only to find that the wobble was still there - not now snatching to the left, but still there when slowing down. I was a bit worried and thought I would take it back, but after about a 15 mile trip it started to make noises when turning , then on a second turn there was a horrible 'grating' noise so I stopped. It would not go any further, so amid cars compaining with their horn, me and my passenger managed to get it to side of road. Fortunately near a local garage who came to help. Seems it's probably the drive shaft ... so I called the first garage to say something had broken, but very quickly they said it would be nothing to do with them as they would not touch anything like the drive shaft when doing brakes tyres or trackrod and that it must just have been 'going' anyway and it was just bad timimg :( My Question is - as I took it to them asking for advice on the problem - should they not have spotted this ??!! (it's fair to say the brakes were actually in need of change, but maybe not that urgently?) Read more

Shoebpatel, I don't think you're going to get very different advice from what you got in answer to your previous threads on 28 February and 4 March, which asked the same question.

If you didn't like it, I'm sorry, but we can only say what we think. Many of us don't believe that a diesel at your budget level is a good buy - although at least at that vintage there will be more cars available which don't have DPFs.

I read somewhere that if you have a private reg plate you should get a letter of no interest from your insurers. This will protect your registration number should your car be written off in an accident. My insurance company is not aware of this. Has anyone else come across this? Read more

How long has the engine been warmed for ? If you've been on a 20 mile run, then yes, you may have a problem. But if the engine is only just warmed up, then I'd expect the expansion tank coolant to be pretty cold.

Look to me like the detachable swan neck with the towing ball is missing, it should slot in when you remove that dust cover, probably a bolt in situ to camp it into place.

Are you sure its not tucked in the spare wheel well, its no use to someone without the towbar to slot it into....

Hi any help would be great. I have a Peugeot expert 2001 start but wont run for any more than 4/6 seconds. I then have to wait for a minute with the key off before it restarts anything before then and it just cranks over. I have changed the tank pump and the relay with new Peugeot parts cleared the codes but it still the same.

The few seconds its runs its fine no smoke or missing. It ticks over lovely then just stops it doesn't fade out it just stops ( like pulling a plug)... Read more

My son had the air con regassed back in September and it's now stopped, or nearly stopped working again. With the aid of a UV light I can seen there is leak around where one of the pipes joins the condenser.

Two questions. Is this a common failure on this car? Is it likely to be just a seal failure or perhaps a fracture where the pipe joins the body of the condenser?... Read more

Has the dealer a Facebook page, are they on any review sites (Google's your friend)?

Could be a way of exacting revenge, just don't say anything that's not true.
