Current (summer) tyres are 185/55 R15 on standard alloys (15x6 JJ). I want to fit steel wheels and winter tyres.
Www.mytyres.co.uk recommend 175/65 R15 tyres on 5 1/2 x 15 wheels. Are these compatible with the Jazz?
Also my local Honda dealer says Honda supply a winter tyre/wheel combination but they do not list them for my car (only for more recent models). Does that mean they are incompatible with it?
Any advice welcome!

Going up two sections will put your speedo out by 4.11% a bit too much IMO. Check with your car's manual what tyre sizes are listed as these will be right and you can tell your insurer the same so there shouldn't be any problems. Maybe your summer tyres are not the "right" size which is why mytyres have come up with a different section tyre.
For winter I've gone from 17" alloys with 50 section tyres to 16" steels with 55 section and the speedo is out by -0.77% which to me is reassuring. ...

Hi
My 306 hdi estate has a problem where the revs drop when braking but only in cold weather. The car has been fine all through the year since last winter. It only did it for the 1st time last night when the dial read 6degrees?
The revs drop to the point where it sounds like it will stall but never does. If I take my foot off the pedal the revs come back up.
Could this be some kind of sensor related to temperature?
Many thanks Read more
My daughter attended a hospital as an out-patient and parked in a disabled space and displayed the relevant Blue Disabled Permit. She was there just over an hour and she got a ticket. The notice states that she either didn't pay or overstayed what she had paid for.
The hospital web-site shows that if one wishes to use a Blue Badge it has to be registered with the Hospital but there is no signage to that effect at the car park entrance and no reference to this requirement in her out-patient appointment paperwork.... Read more
There are car parks round here both private and council owned where parking in bays marked for disabled drivers is not free. Wide bays with room to fully open doors and near the exits - but a requirement to buy a parking ticket.

Has anyone come across DSG gearbox failures on this car. Its 2012 with 24k miles. Made funny noises 8 weeks ago and it was diagnosed as "clutch" failure and repaired under warranty. Now its making funny noises again and they have had to remove gearbox again and it's diagnosed as failed bearings in the flywheel area which has to be rebuilt again. Its a shame as I think the DSG gearbox is great; seamless changes/gearshifts! Read more
Well my local Skoda dealer rebuilt the DSG box 3 weeks ago; it needed bearings and a new flywheel. It runs perfectly now and changes much smoother than I ever remember in first year of ownership. So guess it had a problem from early days. It changes sealessly and changes down much better when you need power to overtake. Before it would change down too much on kickdown and rev excessively.
I will give it a second chance. They gave me a petrol Yeti to drive with DSG and it was not nearly so nice to drive, nor spacious but it did handle Norfolk pot holes and speed bumps better....
I have just been reading a couple of the long term tests on the HJ fleet.
The drivers have both been moaning about the poor economy of the cars compared to the published EC figures. I think this is nonsense for two reasons: - ... Read more
A lot of argument over a subject that has been forensically examined on this forum previously. For years HJ has consistently stated that we take no notice whatsoever of the published fuel consuption figures from manufacturers. They are based upon unreal conditions to produce lower CO2 emissions for that vehicle. However they all tell the same lie so we can get an indication of fuel economy per vehicle. That is it, that is all there is on the subject. It is not an EU conspiracy or a manufacturers ploy to cheat us, it is the system. So pay your money and make your choice. Cheers Concrete
I hope to buy a cheap one now that they pulled out.
