Just been watching a motoring program on N24 and it explained what the word Mito means, its actually short for Milan and Torino where they apparently make them.

Piece of useless information. Read more

I think it was going to be called 'Milano' but the workers in Turin objected.

Subjectively it looks to me as if Fiats and Alfas are the subject of fewer complaints on this forum than they used to - indeed there are plenty of other makes which feature more often....

Got a similar offer on a sale not lease-offered new car, lower payments(HP),paused long enough to ask "what colours available?".Three days ,later-new car.I can only think that they had a customer for the car I owned and were trying to move what I was offered. However going back to that dealer several years later,I was told that neither the salesman or the sales manager was employed by them any longer-commenting that they made more on their sales than we did!

,time has a great deteriation on belts not nessasarily milage.

Only when measured in decades. The original fan belt on my 1980 TR7 is still satisfactory - as was the cambelt on our ten yr old Passat with more than 240,000m. Modern belts only break if something makes them break. ...

I recently advertised my Mitsubishi in Auto Trader for my car to appear in the magazine and the internet. I was contacted by a person who claimed to want buy the car for the full price for his son and he would arrange for a courier to come down to pick the car up. I agreed and asked how he would like to pay for the car? He wanted to use Paypal and sometime later a e-mail came through to me that he had paid in full and I should receive confirmation shortly. The Paypal e-mail followed with all the correct logos and type face, saying the funds had been withheld until a £300.00 fee payable to a guy in Liverpool would have to be made before the transaction could go through. I smelt a rat straight away, the Paypal e-mail was from someone c/o Paypal in the address line and the whole thing was a scam to get a fee before disappearing into the night.

Auto Trader is becoming a popular hunting ground for scams and this one was a bit pathetic to say the least. If you are selling your car through Auto Trader just make sure if someone offers a Paypal method of payment check your account with them before doing anything else. E-mails saying the funds are there just might be fake.... Read more

When visiting the Royal Albert Hall by car, you can pre-book parking at the Imperial College carpark for around £8. It's handy and it's close to the hall

Be warned though, Westminster Council under-cover parking officers will be waiting for you. Everyone who has booked Imp College carpark has to queue to wait for the gates to be opened at 6pm (Prince Consort Road entrance), even if only for a few minutes. We did just this two weeks ago and wondered why a white van pulled in front of us, onto the pedestrian crossing and then parked, shortly to pull away again. The van turned around and sat behind other cars. Very curious. A week later we found out what the van was doing when the photo of us queuing was sent with a £60 parking fine.... Read more

Very true!! In my home town on the south coast, there are the usual areas which are blighted by idiots blatantly causing traffic issues with their stupid parking, yet day after day there they are, in 'their' spot, regardless. Funny how a top-end German sports car parked illegally (or whatever it is or isn't these days) outside the owner's estate agents, day-in, day-out, gets left well alone, yet your or me overstaying by a few minutes in a legitimate bay is game on. I drove for a living and we once made enquiries about a particular area and were told, without a hint of irony, that wardens were not sent there because it was a 'high conflict' area - why the hell do they pay these people their wages?!! Empty cars in quiet backstreets are far more profitable than genuine dangerous parkers, clearly.
