Peugeot 107 - Garage offered new car BEFORE end of Lease ??? - ferrisbueller

Hi,

my garage phoned me up earlier and want to offer a brand new 107 for the same, or even slightly less monthly payments. My lease agreement doesn't end until next August??

Is this just a marketing ploy to get me to spend more on a nicer car?

He did say that my car was in excellent condition and so I'm guessing they can make money on the second hand value, taking into account the amount I have already payed. His reason was that they had a lot of new cars, and the offer wouldn't be around for long. In fact he wants me to contact him Sat/Sun.

It just sounds too good to be true, although I am v.happy with the current car.

Any opinions gratefully received.

gues its 3 years old by August ? if its a good deal and your happy and he clears the old lease why not. I have to say we have just purchased our 2nd C1 splash as the first one has been the best car ever for the price & this time we got 3 years free servicing & AA cover & Gap insurance all included for 3 years and with £20 road tax and 60+ to the gallon its been good value.

If this one remains as reliable as the first then its been cheap reliable motoring.

Just an update.

Went to the garage today. They have had a slow month in October so Peugeot needed to get some new cars shifted,

My 3 door 107 (08 plate) is in great condition but has a few scratches and a dint (caused by me leaning on the bodywork !!). They were able to give me the following deal:

A 5 door 107 (60 plate), with 3 years free breakdown cover (which I hopefully won't need) for exactly the same payment terms as I'm currently on which is 'cheap as chips'

I've taken the deal as I was planning to replace with another 107 next August after the three years were going to be up. The other reason is that I think prices will rise by next Summer due to VAT and other factors.

Saw an advert last week for NEW 107 Millisem(?)- approx £2300 off list for just about £7000

Leather seats so must be an upmarket 107.

Which model were you looking at?

It's win-win isn't it - they get a sale and you get a new car.

My elder daughter is on her fourth 1.3 Yaris: each one has been on a 3-year PCP and each one has cost a little less per month than the last. She had the last one for only about 18 months before the dealer (the excellent Octagon at Bracknell) were in touch and keen to do a deal.

Got a similar offer on a sale not lease-offered new car,lower payments(HP),paused long enough to ask "what colours available?".Three days ,later-new car.I can only think that they had a customer for the car I owned and were trying to move what I was offered.However going back to that dealer several years later,I was told that neither the salesman or the sales manager was employed by them any longer-commenting that they made more on their sales than we did!
