Mrs FA had a bit of a moment in the winter and switched on the wipers when they were frozen to the screen. Result - the adaptor from the bayonet wiper arm broke. I have persevered with a Halfords part that doesn't fit but it does need replacing. I have hunted high and low to no avail. those wiper companies that supply adaptors don't supply one that fits my car. In desparation i phoned Mitsubishi and yes you've guessed it, they will only sell the entire arm.
Is there anywhere that I can get an adaptor to fit? Read more
Just bite the bullit and by the correct new arm from Mitzy.
Hello,
When using Money Claims Online should a sole trader make a claim as an Individual or as an Organisation, as far as I can see it does not matter, after all the organisation and individual are one and the same in the eyes of the law.
Any thoughts?
Thanks!
Thanks Avant, I went for Organisation in the end, seemed to make more sense where you have a trading name and an indivdual....
we had taken the car into the garage to have the spark plugs to be changed. on way home the car stalled once and now we cant get it to start at all. we have checked the fuel line, theres plenty of fuel in the tank, but there is no power getting to the spark plugs or the fuel pump. she is turning over fine so its not the starter motor, she just wont kick in. she was running perfectly fine before the plugs was changed. any ideas? as this is frustrating the hell out of us and our mechanic lol x Read more
Hi, you need to locate the Inertia Fuel Shut-off switch which is located in the engine bay on the right hand side of the engine block. This is a switch which cuts off the fuel when you have a bump. They do sometimes just fail causing the engine not to start. It should be round or square with a rubber button on it. It needs to be unplugged and the pins shorted across it using a paper clip.
Hydraulic tappets are known to cause non starter on these particular models....

Where from the gearbox. A drive shaft seal or from the bell housing, i.e. the join between the engine and the gearbox. Regards Peter
Hi All
I have a Ford Focus Estate as detailed above with 140,000 miles on the clock. I do quite high miles (motorway) 40,000 - 50,000 year. The car has been very reliable but i am afraid that i might be coming into expensive times taking into account the mileage. Should i keep and just replace the normal cambelts and oil etc and keep fingers crossed or should i change to a BMW 5 Series with 100,000 miles on the clock as i have heard that these are capable of very high miles. I really like the ford as bits are always so cheap but then again i look inside a 5 series and think i have reached heaven. Please could you assist me in making a decision or give some guidance as too suitable replacements if you are not happy with my choice. My budget is £3,000 approx.... Read more
Clutches and headgasgets are quite easy jobs on BMW 5 series and not expensive if you do it youself but they are heavy on fuel and suspension parts are expensive and if they are autos you could be looking at a very expensive repair costs.
There are plent of cars around that are far better to own than an old BMW but they do look nice and drive extremely well. Why not look for a newer focus you must know them inside out after all those miles.
Granddad's X reg Berlingo, and drive it back to the UK via Italy, Switzerland and France.
My Granddad bought the car in the UK as normal back when he lived here, and used it to travel out to Greece when he moved there. Back in 2004, he officially exported the car from the UK....
Hello every one,
I would highly appreciate if anyone shed some light on my very frustrating problem. I have VW polo 1.4L - V Reg car, done 83000 miles on the clock. I wonder whether the car is coming to end of its life. About 9 months ago, clutch was the problem. Hence I changed the clutch with Mr. Clutch. Around 18 months ago, changed the electrical system with Autodirect. Now the car is very jerky at all the gears, very frustrating especially at roundabouts it strolls. Very noisy too. Gives noise when changing gears. Taken to Mr.clutch, says that as I have missed a free test for the clutch, it cannot be sorted out now as the warranty is invalid. I know nothing about the mechanical matters of the car. I am wondering what to do. ... Read more
I managed to put 2 litres of petrol into the tank of my diesel Jag before realising. After some hesitation, I then put 40 litres of diesel in. it seems to be running OK. Should I get the tank drained and flushed out or will I get away with it? Read more
It will be perfectly ok ,but don't make a habit of it,all it will do is give the system a good clean.
