Travel up through Spain overnight to Santander or Bilbao - do it regularly and you don't see any "Trafico" - ferry to Plymouth or Portsmouth bypassing France. Then sort out your UK problems.

not good with cars

Hi, My heater blower has just stopped working on my 2003 ford ka. The switch does not work in any of the four positions. I have just checked the fuse, No 12 (30amp) and it is fine. Any help or advice please. Many Thanks. Read more

Am pleased it's all fixed now, bear in mind the other faults which are more common in case of problems in the future (hopefully not of course!).

We change car about every five years, and the time has come, I'm afraid :-(

We've had Peugeot diesel estates for the past 15 years - a 405, a 406 and a 307SW - and we've been happy with them. We buy new or nearly new.... Read more

You need to go to a sc***yard yourself, and take off the part yourself. Then you can choose the best/cleanest/newest.
Good Luck !

Car starts fine and drives fine for the first 30 seconds, then it starts to misfire badly when accelerating, although it’s not too bad if you accelerate very gently and slowly. It revs fine and idles fine. Then after a few more minutes and the engine has reached full temperature it perfect.

I checked the obvious stuff, the plugs are genuine ford from the dealer and are 4 months old, I swapped coil pack and leads with a mates car to check and no difference. There are no fault codes.... Read more

Our 2003 Fiesta 1.4LX is doing the same type of thing, only 40,000 miles, not as bad as your 1st 2 posters, a misfire/hesitation when cold at light throttle openings, which tends to clear as the engine warms throughly say 5 miles. Flat out driving is fine! I wondered about

the coolant sensor sending incorrect signals to the ECU, but I am only making an educated guess....

You're welcome, and I'm relieved my memory's not jumbling things up, I've had 7 cars and worked on all of them in my time.

If you get difficult starting from warm/hot, it's usually old spark plugs, btw.

Hello,

Would apppreciate some help with a problem on the above vehicle which is driving me and my local garage mad. Emissions light came on and car down on power. Fault code read as P1592 so replaced turbo boost switch. Car was ok for about a week then problem recurred. Garage carried out a live data check and given the boost switch has been replaced came up as Air mass meter which was replaced under warranty.... Read more
