Hi there, I am looking for a bit of advice.
I am starting to look for a newer car, to replace an old six seater Honda Shuttle. Looking to spend £5K, but may be able to vary this a bit.
I'm looking for something with seven seats that is reliable, comfortable (6 foot 3 and very fussy about driving high-up with my legs clear of the steering wheel). Never been much fussed on Galaxy type, and currently have an 05 Zafira (which is great, but I need something a bit wider).
So far, my findings are taking me towards an older Toyota Previa (newer shape), C8 / Peugeot 807 or possibly the Mitsubishi Grandis.
Any suggestions / comments? Many thanks, Nigel.

Hello
I need to source a high pressure diesel pump for a Clio 1.5DCi 100 bhp. Does anyone know which pumps are compatible with the Clio 1.5, as getting a Renaut specific one will narrow things down somewhat.
Also, I've heard that the pump may need to be "programmed" some how by a main dealer. Is this true, and if so, is there any way round this?

I don't think she has much of a case to complain.
As has been pointed out on here many times, the Mother&Baby Space is there to allow a person to maneuver a child in and out of a car seat / pushchair .
Is she saying that being pregnant means she needs a special parking place in which case, how many weeks should this apply from - the day she takes the test ?
Are we going to see a demand for ' pregnant " car parking spaces designated for the use of pregnant people only. Read more
>>This individual epitomised the ' me, me, me' culture that is now entrenched in British society.
Well, if she were having twins, you'd be technically right at least. ;>
Although I made (what I thought at least) a jokey initial reply, I'm beginninng to think that some posters (and not just the OP) really do need to stock up on compassion pills & go back to be-a-bit-more-understanding school for some more lessons.
Looking at the size of the pregnant lady in question, it could be highly likely she'd find a 'standard' parking bay a bit if a squeeze & every bit of ease she could bring to her daily routine (e.g. being a bit closer to the shop entrance etc.) would be welcome.
There really are some uncharitable types about - not least the parking drones who picked her out for financial punishment. Never mind, providence often sends a lesson to those in need.
After six weeks we have finally put down a deposit on a new car. We have so far:
Made 25 dealer visits...
...to 18 different dealers...
...and seen over 30 models of car...
...from 14 manufacturers...
...covered over 200 miles...
...and I have taken three whole days off of work and lost several weekends in the process.
Whenever I walk into Tesco, I never walk out empty-handed, I ALWAYS walk out with a week's shopping.
Why is the car buying process so damned difficult - aren't they supposed to be trying to sell cars these days?! If Tesco modelled itself on the motor trade, we'd all starve!!
Ugh!

Funnily enough, my local dealer has a used XF 3.0D S Premium Luxury in stock. '09 Reg. in Black with Charcoal leather.
If you are within travelling distance, give them a call on Monday and you'll probably get a test drive the same day. Alternatively, contact your nearest Jag dealer and tell them the stocklist ID (799501) and location (Harwoods, Basingstoke) and Jaguar will normally have it delivered to you for a test drive.

Kevin...
Had car into vauxhall today found a leaking rear shocker n/s/r vauxhall admit yes sir it's leaking and the o/s/r is dry but we won't replace under warranty!
This car has done just 22k and vauxhall say there guarantee is to 37k, it's very clearly wet and they still refuse to replace.
They say vauxhall have instructed them not to replace unless blown etc, i have taken photo's of both for the head office which i have just phoned and there looking into the matter.
Any body got any views on this please? Read more
Where does 37K come from?
From the vauxhall garage i guess this is what vx give for warranty, 3yrs is about right this is what the fast fit guys give.
The car is low mileage at 22k so should live to at least 50-60k without problems my other cars have done that if not more.
Hi,
I really hope someone can help. I have recently bought an 04 Streetka. The car has been sent to Ford x2 and they have said nothing is wrong. However when I am sitting in traffic with all my feet OFF the pedals and the car is in neutral the rev counter shoots up to over 3 all on it's own. It makes such loud noises that I have had to switch the engine off :-(
The rev counter also goes daft when I depress the clutch to change gear. please help Read more
In addition to the re-instatement of MOT inspection in relation to VRM's that do not conform there is more:
Thought some of you might be interested in this which I spotted in current edition of Police Review, the official journal of BritPol.
Agreed by NPIA, ACPO, DVLA and ANPR, a new system started last week where if Plod pulls you for a 'dicky' number plate they will send a photo of the plate with a short form to DVLA.
The driver of the offending vehicle has 28 days to fix the defect and send a photo to DVLA to prove it has been done.
Those that do not comply will have their VRM revoked by DVLA and details fed onto ANPR intelligence.

Why mess around, seize the car and crush it. One less BarryBoy to deal with.
Real private plates like a TCH1 and such I don't mind but all this self deluding junk that people think are private...
I am having problems buying after market front and rear brake pads for my 1.8 mx5 sport as all dealers need to know the diameter of the front and rear disc's other than taking my wheels off measuring them and putting back on, then going to the suppliers. Could you advise me what are the diameter of the fornt and rear brake disc's.
Thanks very much

or buy both sizes on the understanding that you return the ones you dont need, i do this quiet offten as the supplier cant tell me exactly whats fitted to which model so i cover all angles obvosly if they tell you which part number is what size then you wont even have to open the boxes,Regards TB
Anyone know how to get the headlight alarm buzzer working? It used to work then stopped for some reason. It should sound when you leave your lights on and open the drivers door. The little "pin" button on the inside of the drivers door seems to press in and out freely..any ideas? Read more
My home town in north Essex like many others has had an influx of Polish residents many of whom brought their cars over with them.
I'm curious to know if their cars need to be re-registered on UK plates after a certain period of time?
Would the vehicle need to be MOT'd to UK standard and if so when would a new MOT fall due?
Could a Polish car on Polish plates get a road fund licence in the UK?

i like the poles
i like the way they conduct themselves
Me too bb. Polish jokes American style seem pretty wide of the mark.
When I was minicabbing in South London got a call to the Polish Club just down from Clapham Common there. A regular punter, old gent, builder or something. He had his wife and another lady with him. They had been at some sort of big Polish hooley at the club.
He ushered them into the back of the car, an estate, and then moved back a yard and scrabbled at the rear lower quarter panel. Eventually I realised he was so unbelievably drunk that he thought they were in the front, and he was trying to get into the back like a gent. I ushered him gently into the front seat. He behaved with gentlemanly, impeccable old-style East European courtesy at all times.
I wish we were a bit more like that sometimes, I must say.

I know you said you aren't keen, but we've owned a Galaxy for 5 yrs now and its been great. The main priotity was comfort for 5 with the extra room for 7 when needed eg friends, granparents. We've been to France a few times and the full sized seats for each passenger are great. Quite a bit of the time one person sits in the rear and 2 in the middle with the middle seat folded. We spen ages looking for the right car and discounted most of the others; the zafira back seats way too unconmfortable and the shuttle had a weird bump on the centre middle seat. We are just about growing out of the galaxy now as our eldest 2 are at uni so the times when we are all out together a few and far between. Just picked up eldest from uni today with all of her belongings; fit in no problem.
