Does it come on immediately after starting or once you are on the move? If it is the former then it should be easier to find as the fault is usually an open circuit wheel sensor, probably one of the fronts.
Hi
Just to let you know
When browsing through the CBC, and after selecting a car, then clicking on the extra pictures of the cars, they dont work all i get is a blank box, where the larger picture should be.
Also if I use the drop down selections, as soon as i click on a manufacturer the "Consider Also" section jumps in the way.
I thought it was my laptop, last night - but ive just done it on another PC and its the same - using IE7

It works for my in say Chrome but not Internet Explorer. The fact that the most popular browser is still probably IE6 and IE7 this site should work on them. I don't see why this site should need users to upgrade their browsers.

Tesco have been asked to change their delivery times to ease congestion and make it safer for school children to travel to their places of education.
What is next?

Why don't we just remove all restrictions to road traffic, speed limits, traffic lights, road signs, etc, etc and just allow a free for all?
I sometimes wonder if that is the only way to satisfy some people....
After a bit of reading I wondered whats the worst treatment for a car (regardless of engine type).
One of my mates brought an Audi once that had been sitting around not used for 6 months.
As a result lots of problems happened and eventually the auto gearbox broke.
Also if a car is thrashed repeatedly lots of problems happen.
So what is worse not used or thrashed ? Read more
Give it to a BarryBoy to 'upgrade'
No quicker way to 'kill' a car.

I can't make my mind up whether to buy a Jazz or Multispace II. At the moment I have a 12 year old Polo, which has served me well, but I'm finding the boot a bit small for my needs. I also have a child about to go to college, so suspect I may need a van!
The advantage of the Jazz is that you get everything included, whereas Citroen seem to want you to add everything useful as extras (like an alarm, and side airbags).
I can get the Berlingo XTR for not much more than the Jazz - although Honda do the full scrappage deal, whereas (and this might just be my local dealer) Citroen seem very reluctant to offer scrappage - they claim their "discounts" more than compensate for this - but leave me with the issue of selling my old car.
I don't like the idea of not having a spare wheel - although in 12 years of the Polo I've only ever had one puncture - and I didn't know about that until I went for a service.
I'm also concened about visibility - when I first got the Polo I had several near-misses on roundabouts with cars hiding behind the thick door pillars. I gather the Jazz has a similar problem?
I'm told Honda are more reliable than Citroen - any thoughts? Read more
When I first phoned up I suspect the saleman I spoke to was from the used sales department, and was not used to dealing with new car sales. He told me he had the vehicle I wanted, otherwise I wouldn't have used that partcular dealership in the first place.
The salesman I dealt with when I went to collect the car was equally personable, it was just the sales manager who was so obnoxious. Perhaps that was why he was promoted?
I am driving down to Italy in the summer as usual, though this time we are having a couple of nights in Innsbruck on the way down. I know you need an Austrian Motorway tax sticker (vignette?), is it possible to buy one online like you can the Swiss one, if not where is the best place to purchase? (I only need the 10 day one by the way).
Second question, we are doing the Hull - Rotterdam ferry then heading for a night in Basel with relatives. Which is a recommended route? The route planners seem to go through Luxembourg then into France near Metz. Someone else has suggested going all the way down in Germany.
Thanks Read more
Not sure on that yet Gmac, but will be returning through Switzerland so will be getting a Swiss vignette aswell. Good job we are taking her Bravo diesel and not my Alfa lol.
Hi,
Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I'm looking to replace my current car with a diesel estate with a budget of a maximum of £8k but would prefer to spend no more than £7. I will be buying with cash so no finance involved and will be keeping the car for a minimum of three years. I therefore want something that I will enjoy driving and I assume that I will be looking at around an 05-06 plate.
I have driven a diesel 130 Mondeo estate in the past and currently have an old 2.0 petrol estate mondeo. I quite fancy the look of the 155 diesel version. The other option is an Octavia 2.0 diesel 140 although I have seen a VRS 170 version with 82K mileage for just under £9k but my head is telling me to be sensible and exclude this.
Given my location, I will have to travel to test drive the cars so I am trying to gain as much info as possible in advance. Obviously I am familiar with a mondeo but has anyone driven both the mondeo 155 and Octavia 140 and can offer me a comparison in terms of performance, drive, build quality, running costs etc. Or should I just throw caution to the wind and go for the VRS despite its high mileage although it has 14 months left of manufacturer's warranty? Are there any other cars that I should consider?
Thanks in advance.

Is this 155PS Engine any more reliable then 130PS Mondeo? Also read somewhere the torqe band is very narrow. Thanks
On the odd occasion over the last 3 months the starter has failed to turn the flywheel, however it has done it the last 2 out of 3 times I have used the car. It just spins and doesn't engage. Retrying one or twice does eventually make it catch but I may be at risk of burning out the motor. Is there any way you can lubricate the mechanism to allow allow the ring gear to slide back and forth or would it be a new starter motor? Read more
Sounds as though the motor or solonoid is at fault. You could check the connections, especially the earth lead from the battery to the engine, but its more likely the starter itself.
Hi all,
I have just purchased a 1998 Peugeot 306 1.8L manual on Sunday and I totally love the car. Stylish, zippy and easy to drive :), I cannot ask for anything more!
However........... the car has a little flaw, where the previous owner failed to tell me about.
When I start the car up on a coldish morning (approx 5-9 degrees) I was pretty shocked to see the engine revving up and then idle at 3000 rpm for 20-30 seconds before dropping down to 2500 rpm and then up to 3000 rpm again for a couple of times before it finally idles at around 1500 rpm.
Once its at 1500 rpm it idles and drives fine without any problems at all.
It is only at the initial cold start up phase where the idle is worryingly high as if the car is going to explode on me while I am in the car.. :(
I didn't get an engine error engine lights come on either.
Did anyone have a similar issue?
Can someone please shed some light on the matter, I am not very clued up about Peugeots therefore any help would be great.
Thanks in advance,
Jennifer

Thank you for your patience and your help, what does the cleaning process entail?
How do I clean it? Do I just take it apart and then clean it with carb cleaner and a tooth brush?
Any pitfalls I should be aware of before taking it apart?
Thanks :)

a really poor effort to promote a kitemark in my opinion, i think the car took that smash very well, the roof went up just as a "normal" car would, and a car now damaged that bad would be cat b [break only] not repairable.
