Ive just seen one of these whilst browsing round, and i wondered, would anyone serously consider one of these, which is nothing more than a 3 wheeled rickshaw - I would go as far to say that a Bedford Rascal would be a more versatile van? Read more
Hi,
I have a intermitent problem. Sometimes from hot or cold my vectra does not start with out putting some revs on first. Also it has cut out on me while driving (I can go weeks between cut outs).
Any one have any ideas?
Also I have an annoying knocking noise from the back end when it goes over bumps.

I've fitted a couple when i worked at vauxhall dealer but yeah good point the crank sensors are always going on them and omegas!
My first post, so hello.
Cruise control on my Volvo S80 suddenly won't work. There's no cruise light so I doubt it's the brake pedal switch or anything that switches it off while in operation.
I'd like to check fuse, relay, etc but I've no circuit diagram. Can anyone help? And am I on the right track? Read more
It is often the clutch position sensor. Sometimes they just fail or sometimes the brake master cylinder is leaking onto it. If it detects a fault it disables the cruise control until you restart and sometimes brings on the "Engine System Service" message as well.
The part is about £35 IIRC and is pretty easy to fit yourself but you might need to get a Volvo dealer to fault code read the car to verify that is the problem.
The rear view mirror has fallen off and at the same time the fitting to the windscreen has come off the rear view mirror stalk. It is a ball end that needs to go back into the stalk, but what is the best way to do that. I've tried everything at the moment without any joy?
Any help would be most appreciated. Read more
Cheers andyp. Looks like I'm off to the local dealer tomorrow then.
Hi,
I'm hoping someone might be able to tell me what is wrong.
We had a sticking front calliper which was replaced in January. Since then, (perhaps it was there before) we have had a smell of burning come through the vents in the car (no air con).
When in town you usually smell it at traffic lights. And I think the smell comes from acceleration. Although after a long journey along country roads and some pretty big hills the smell was particularly bad.
I've had a look under the bonnet and noticed what looks like coolant residue (flaky pink stuff) on the right hand side of the engine. I've also noticed that the coolant level is now down below the minimum, but not by a large amount.
I've not noticed any marks on the ground under the car.
Other than the above problem the car drives well, no loss of power - although the speedo occasionally drops to zero, probably a speedo sensor issue.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Would appreciate if anyone could recommend a decent 7 Seater or at a push a smaller MPV for example a Renault Scenic. Got £2000 budget. Always liked the Honda Shuttle but put off my economy around town etc and apparent high insurance bracket. Had 7 seater 4x4s in the past but do not want to go down that route again.
Any real life MPV experiences or recommendations?
Also any recommendations on the best scenic to buy the original shape or the slightly newer one. Read more
>>Has been muted several times on this forum, that sometimes there is not much to

It has actually been MOOTED. to argue. To Mute is to shut up.
Anyway, I 'd say that currently there is a huge difference between a 1k and 2k car. 2k will get you something 4/5 years old with high miles; 1k will take you to something 10 years old. No help if those 2k are OP's last pennies in the world.
In my view, buying something newer - provided you can (in BobbyG's terms) actually afford to, makes far more sense than ever (recently) before.
Hi!
I have been experiencing a problem with my Golf mk.IV 1.9 GT TDI (130bhp)
whereby if I accelerate pretty quickly and get to, say 3k RPM the power is cut right down
and you have almost no power- it gets me home but the response to the pedal is very slow.
It also has a warning message 'Emmisions Workshop'
this has happened 3 or four times now and I have taken it to VW dealers the next day when no message is displayed and they keep saying bring it back when the message is there!!
I bought the car because I wanted a bit of 'whumph' but when I 'whumph' it I may as well have a 1.4L.
Any ideas what this is and approx.how much to put right?
Thanks guys!

I would recommend Midland VW at Cannock if you want to take it somewhere.
They are a very good independent VW workshop and they are near Stoke.

So there I was minding my own business walking back to my car when I heard a loud 'bang'.
Looked round and an ancient Corsa is buried in the back of a not quite so ancient Punto. Both car drivers had been leaving the doctors.
Wait at my car to see the aftermath - I hadn't actually seen the accident, but hung around anyway.
Young guy steps out of Corsa, elderly female steps out of Punto.
Young guy immediately starts effing and blinding 'why did you ****** (my stars!) stop, I thought you'd ******* gone. That's your ******* fault.
The woman held it together for a few seconds protesting her innocence and trying to calm things down, but she lost it at which point I walked over.
I managed to calm them both down and suggested the guy walk away and finish his cigarette while I dealt with the old lady who was by now suffering from shock and was in a right state. Called her daughter who rang her husband.
Details eventually exchanged, but the woman was devastated, the guy did calm down and apologised for his outburst. Neither of them had a pen or a piece of paper for such eventualities.
I took some pics on the phone have done a witness statement just in case, but I expect it to be sorted out quickly. The Punto was an 02 reg and will probably be a right off as rear bumper, tailgate, rear cross member and boot floor were all bent, the Corsa definately will be as the nearside front end was bent and there was fluid dripping - could have been washer fluid as there wasn't much.
It looked like the Punto was turning left and went part way out as there were cars parked near the junction on the right, but then became aware of a car coming from the left who was across the middle of the road as they were overtaking cars parked on the left and the driver thought better and stopped to let them pass. Corsa thought Punto had gone, didn't check and bang. Read more
nice to see there are still people willing to help others
i saw an accident last year and a female was in a flap,i calmed the other driver down who was ranting and it was his fault,i got my throwaway camera out of my car rolled the film and gave it to the female along with my witness details, she never thanked me then or since and i had to replace the camera at my expense so unfortunately i will think twice next time

Ah right, that make sense , given the alternative Renault Trafic badging.

I've seen quite a few of these in Manchester. I think they are used when rival gangs want to turture other gang members or something.
Either way these vehicles are nothing new.
